If you could name just one football play that sticks out in your mind about Highlands Football, what would it be. I know I have my favorite!!!!

If someone wanted to be a hater,

If someone wanted to stir the pot,

If someone wanted to yank the Bluebird's chain,

If someone wanted to step in the big pile of bird poo to see if it stunk,

If someone wanted to twist the knife in the Bluebird's back,

They would pick when the judge ruled Mitchell ineligible. But I would never do that.:D;):sssh::jump::bunny::irked::p:eek::scared::lol:

I'm having trouble just picking one. The first one that came to mind was the Jamie Hubbard touchdown where he just drove it in for the score with about 8 Cov. Cath. players hangin on him starting at about the 12 yard line.

In 1975 when Jeff McMahon blocked a Franklin-Simpson punt and Rick Pendery fell on it to give HHS a 7-0 lead in the State Title game...followed closely by the "Hail Terry" pass of the 2007 Title game against Bowling Green.

Mike Mitchell dislodging the ball from the Boyle County tight end in the north end zone with a perfectly timed hit!

Hardest hit I have ever seen in a high school game.:thumb:

This is one of my favorites. An amazing run by James Hubbard in the 2004 semi-finals against Cov Cath:

That's the one I was thinking of. That's cool that it's on Youtube.

In 2004 vs Bell County Mike Mitchell's game winning touchdown.

Johnny Bankamper's td against CovCath in the playoff's in 1982. I wasn't involved but it seem to be one of the most climatic td's to end a game for a Bluebird victory.

Wow, now that's an obscure reference! Did you find the account of that play written on some ancient scroll, tucked away in the furthest recesses of the National Archives?

It should be interesting when I see J.B. Wednesday night at a meeting -- if he reads this, that is. I dodged a similar bullet at the last meeting. ;)

I have so many favorite plays, I can't name just one...or remember when they happened.

I have a few favorites, but I must say my all time favorite was when LN and I were watching the '75 State game and he pointed out what a great tackle he made on a particular play. I then asked him what his number was in High School (as if I didn't know, but he seemed to have forgotten). Needless to say it was the same as the guy that had made the great tackle.
