Newman did play one year at Morehead, but developed concussion syndrome and was forced to give up football.

ETown- Jerry Turner is playing basketball for Georgetown College.

Monin was from Bardstown and I'm curious to know about him, too.

 

Speaking of E-Town, what about the Deaderick kid that went to Auburn the WRs from their '03 runnerup team, Jerry Turner & A.J. French.

 

The kid from Highlands who laid a monster hit during the '05 KY/TN All-Star game, Mike ?????, and it wasn't Mike Mitchell.

Could you be thinking of Mike Stowers? If so he attended U of L and I believe on the team. This year he transfered to Thomas More and is still playing. NCBIRD would have to complete and correct answer to Stowers, but I believe he is still playing ball.

You are correct...He transfered from Louisville last year and is working out with Thomas More. I believe he wants to play Linebacker for TM - 6-2 or 3 and weighs about 220, not a bad pick up!!! I know Mike is working hard and is real excited about playing this year.

From the way back machine, I'll throw out a name that has bloodlines playing today. Bill Roller of HHS from late 60's. STILL the bar to which all linebackers are compared to for Highlands. Has a nephew making noise on this year's undefeated state championship team, Brandon. Brandon WILL go on to play at the next level...mark it down!

I would say Ian Holbrook from Ashland, and even though he went to Marshall for a short stint Michael West from Lawrence County.

 

Ian Holbrook is alive and well as a pre-med student. Football wasn’t his best option. He attends UK on academic scholarship and has a 4.0 cumulative GPA.

Mke is truly an athlete. Always felt that his athletic ability wasn't given the recognition he deserved in 2004. Possibly overshadowed by other events of that year.

 

On top of everything, Mike is really a great guy. Nice kid.:thumb:
