February 25, 200818 yr Author Any more questions NCF? Not at this time. Seems like a nerve or two was hit with that last one.
February 25, 200818 yr Just moved back to Lexington and during the day I have been looking for work, getting on BGP, watch movies from my Netflix subscription, and on a good day I have an interview. It's all starting to get old though...
February 25, 200818 yr I retired almost 1 year ago to the day. Had to retire on disability and I have no regrets. Don't do much in the winter months, but do get out and play golf when the weather and my legs allow for it during the summer.
February 25, 200818 yr College, and look for jobs. I have submitted a total of 43 resumes/applications in Adair/Russel/Rockcastle counties. I have never had this hard of a time in finding a job. (Started looking again in December). If you have a McJob right now don't quit because it is insanely hard to find another one. I have never quit a job without the intention of going back (I have only had one job but it was season after high school. I basically took leave of absences while school was going on) I get on BGP and study, (believe it or not I am one of the few college students that actually studies, lol.)
February 25, 200818 yr Bravo to those of you that work as caregivers and nurturers to your children, parents and spouses. We talk a lot about sports "heros" but you guys are the ones that people should look up to!
February 25, 200818 yr I eat, go to class, go to the gym, nap, eat, study, hang out with friends, watch tv, sleep... repeat..

February 26, 200818 yr Bravo to those of you that work as caregivers and nurturers to your children, parents and spouses. We talk a lot about sports "heros" but you guys are the ones that people should look up to! Great post but I don't consider myself a hero. My mother worked full time doing factory work for 43 years and my father worked 47 years on the Railroad. While doing so they raised five kids and I am sure there were many times they didn't feel like staying up late to help with a problem, homework etc. or care for us when we were sick. Not one time do I ever remember hearing them complain. As some on here know, my mother became sick a few years ago and requires attention 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. As a family we all joined in as one to help any way we could. We watched my father stay night and day by her side to see she had everything possible to stay comfortable and not suffer just as he did for us. He himself became ill and is now in Heaven but we still have our dear mom to care for who continues to fight each day to regain her health. I consider myself very fortunate to have grown up with parents who cared enough to make sacrifices in their lives so we could have the things we wanted and needed and I will always be thankful to them. I am just doing what most on here would do, giving back a little of the love that was given to me by two of the greatest parents anyone could have had.

We talk a lot about sports "heros" but you guys are the ones that people should look up to! I too thank you, but like was stated in a post above me....I don't consider myself a hero...nor, a caregiver to PH, I am just a wife trying to help my husband out until he is all the way up to snuff. The ones that we are helping out are the heros....like RK's mom and PH, BF and a lot of other people on here...I think they are the true heros....they actually give us strength and hope to be able to assist them...(by the way...I am not leaving God out of the equation...he helps all of us to cope!)
February 26, 200818 yr I only work on days that the schools call me to substitute. On Mondays and Wednesday, I have class, so I do not work on those days. Today, they did not call. They did wake me up at 8:15 am to ask me if I wanted to sub Thursday and Friday, and I said yes. So I stayed up until around 9:30 and decided I wanted to sleep some more. I went back to sleep until noon, got up, ate, did some homework online, and read a little for an online class. Now I'm sitting here, getting ready to eat again, and then go to Judo practice, followed by a workout at the gym. Then it's off to blockbuster, and back home for some Xbox Live before I hit the bed. I don't have class till 12:20 tomorrow, so I can sleep in tomorrow too! It's nice.
