February 23, 200818 yr ]Most likely they will get evicted. Our patients are constantly changing housing for the same reason. Oddly enough our patients often flush the oddest things down the toilet. Maintainence spends a lot of time unclogging toilets on our unit. I never understood that one' date=' but it is an interesting fact[/b']. Too bad, it sounds as if your local police are not educated in handling the mentally ill. Many of our patients are brought into the hospital by our police officers. They are trained in how to handle the mentally ill and usually do a good job. Most of the officers know the patients because they bring them in so often. Sounds as if your officers didnt know what to do. It is a very sad situation all around. I feel bad for you and your neighbor. Oh so very, very true!
February 23, 200818 yr Well at least you have everyone on board then! :lol:Maybe he should circulate a petition.
February 23, 200818 yr Easy there fan. The law is very clear on denying someone their liberty. Just because someone has a fit and makes a lot of noise doesn't mean the police have a legal ability to force them to the hospital. For the record, the worst people I have ever seen handling the mentally ill have been mental health nurses. Several times I have spent a lot of time getting someone to cooperate only to have a nurse with a chip on her shoulder make some kind of smart comment to the patient about causing trouble. However, most nurses are trained very well and usually do a good job. gt, to answer your question, you need to lead the charge with all the tenants in your building. Once you get most or all of them on board you go to the landlord and tell him it is her or all of you. That will solve your problem. As fan pointed out, the worst thing you could do is approach her because you can't be rational with irrational people. Guru, I believe what you are saying. Believe me, no one knows the law in this area better than I. The area I often work in involves people coming in directly from the streets. I have seen patients mishandled by nurses as well as police. My point is that you have to respect the disease, approach it wisely and let the professionals handle it. In any profession you have people with "chips". However, for the most part, most of the officers I deal with are extremely compassionate as are most of the nurses I work with. I have on one occasion called an officer "off" a patient and have also done so with fellow nurses as well. As I am sure you well know, intense situations are handled better by some rather than others. I have a good idea where you work and know where I work as well. I believe that where I work has MUCH better care for the mentally ill from start to finish. However, where I work has a much larger population and all involved have a lot more experience. Sorry, didnt mean to preach, but this issue is extremely close to me. Please dont exile me!
February 23, 200818 yr I was ready to march to the Fort! For the record, I think I know this area of the law better than you. :argue:
February 23, 200818 yr It's just us and them in the building... Then you have to document everything (times, dates, and what happened) and go to your landlord with an ultimatum. The bottom line is this is going to be an on-going problem.
February 23, 200818 yr Author She really does love me! Will you two stop fighting over my wife!!! :irked:

As a result, the vast majority of the mentally ill are being warehoused "where he works."
February 23, 200818 yr GT, Just in case your interested, The two family next to us has a vacancy. The lower level is available. Fairly large, old building, back deck with hot tub. Don't know if the hottub works. Upstairs is a single mom with two elementary age kids. Now, just so you know, every home football game in the fall there will be a party next door. If we go to state, there will be fireworks infront of your house at approximately 1 a.m. And I would like to advise you that fireworks could also happen randemly throughout the year but mostly during football season. The police are already aware of this so your complaints won't matter.
