Cheating is cheating and is not limited to any size/type of school or region.

I understand that, but I believe its taken to a whole new level. If a person at a school says you should transfer and come to our school to a kid, that is wrong. But if a school employee says you should come to our private school and we will pay your tuition, even though you don't qualify, then that takes it to a new level.

I believe it takes it to a new level when someone or a school says come to our private school and we will pay your tution...period.

The LCA issue was church related. These children were having their tuition supplemented by various Christian Churches in the Lexington area. LCA was not eating the cost of their tuition. I'd be willing to wager the fines were paid from funds donbated by church members.....paper trail is easily covered.

Why were these minority students willing to attend LCA and adhere to a stricter program than remain at their appointed public schools? Maybe the publics should focus on that alittle harder. I do feel LCA should vacate the state titles that were won while using these players.

The J-town coach bringing in a Div 1 quality basketball player from another school and getting a four game suspension is ludicrous.

Highlands using an illegal player in all but two football games and not forfeiting their championship is a joke as well.

LexCath should have been slapped harder if the students involved in their "scandal" were contributors to a state title.

And so it goes.......

You need to look back on your history before you make misstatements like this.

You are incorrect. There were three athletes listed on the charges in which they were allowed to graduate still owing the school several thousand dollars. That sounds like LCA ate some of the tuition to me. Are you defending this type of action by saying that a public school should be more concerned with why a kid would want to go to a private for free? Please explain, because it sounds like you are wearing blinders IMO.

What State Titles are we talking about? i only know of 1 Girls Basketball that had a minority student . Are you saying you believe any other Championship should be vacated?

While the situation related student above may have caused heartburn in the public/private debate, that scenerio was not the subject of the sanctions to my limited understanding.

Speculating (which is all the common person can do given KHSAA's lack of disclosure) on 5-7 year old issues is dangerous and reckless.

I was just throwing it out there if the Baseball team had any players that came under scrutiny. LCA did get good awfully quick.

The player in question was not allowed to play in the state final. He was deemed ineligible after exhausting his appeals, correct? Your record is still 2-13 for that season, correct?

That part of the story didn't make the Louisville paper. Did the school allow them to go through ceremony and not release their transcripts? That's a common course of action.

The fact the kids want to attend a private institution over a public should be a concern for the publics. For instance, I understand In Baltimore, the private schools are generally not well funded and the public schools are thought to offer better educational atmosphere.

If I lose a customer to a competitor, I usually want to know why so I can change or improve my product offerings.

Lexington Christian has won two state titles that I know of ... one in girls' basketball and the other one in baseball. They have been very competitive in girls' tennis over the years, too.

Reports are that one of the students involved in the investigation played for the girls' basketball team. I doubt the baseball and tennis players are involved in it.

Lexington Christian also made the state finals in football, and I'm told there at least two or three players on that team that were involved in the "financial aid" fiasco.

The issue was later resolved; but not pursued by the school system. They decided to just let it go. Good advice! :thumb:
