Patterson has a serious motor and Stevenson is stepping up inside. I like what Stevenson is bringing to the team right now. Jasper is making a huge difference.

 

It took Bradley some time but everyone on the team is starting to follow his lead. That is what this team missed in the early going is that leadership.

 

This is a good win. Hopefully they can string a bunch of W's together here.

Anyway you look at it, the Cats are improving ! Solid win ! If they get healthy they may still get into the big dance !!

I think Stevenson's play of late has made a tremendous difference. PP is a good interior passer and he has been able to find Perry for some easy buckets. This will help take some of the pressure off of PP inside. Jasper presence on the court makes a big difference too.....we're a different team with him in the lineup.

I agree with you on Stevenson and Jasper. Also I feel this was a great win as Crawford was on the bench in street clothes. Hopefully he will be able to play against Georgia.

I don't. There is potential there, but they still don't fully understand the game. Stevenson lobs the ball in over the top too many times when backside help is waiting. Then when the lane is clear, he doesn't lob it in to Patterson. Also, Stevenson is just too weak to get the ball in the lane. Yes, he made a few nice plays today, but the ball gets taken away too easily from him. Patterson needs to know when to dish to Stevenson in the lane, and when not too. Too many times his dishes to Stevenson get smacked away. It'll come to them once they learn the game a little more.

I believe the health of Jasper and Meeks is what has set him on the bench. I think BCG knows Porter may not cut it right now.

Just got home from the game. My daughter and I had a great time! Here was my pre-game prediction from another thread:

 

Oh yeah, win 1 should be Saturday against USC. I'll say the Cats start out a little slow after an emotional win against UT, but have a good 2nd half and win by 8.

 

Not bad, if I must say so myself!

Game observations:

 

- UK took South Carolina's BEST shot today and overcame it for a tough win

- #2 on South Carolina is a very fast player and I like UK's defensive strategy of putting taller players on him all day and shadowing him all the way up the court (this is the same strategy I said that they should've used on Vaden way back when - and YES, it was Steveson that was guarding #2 most of the game)

- Bradley is quickly becoming our go to guy - he hits the big shots and isn't afraid to take them

- Rupp was a great atmosphere today; didn't seem to be dead like normal

 

For the record, my 3-year old daughter got an autograph off of Krebs after the game and he didn't call her a little boy or anything.:thumb:

I am comfortable with Perry having the ball in exactly 2 spots on the floor: RIGHT under the basket where is close enough to dunk and at the FT line. Other than that, don't give him the ball.

He scares me with the ball at the FT line. It's a shot he can hit, but he gets it smacked away too much. He just needs to learn to protect the ball a little better. It seems like every game I watch, he gets it stolen from him at least 2 or 3 times from that spot.

Let me be clear. I don't want him shooting any jump shots at all. I was talking about him being good from the FT line on foul shots.
