Sportsfan34
Cody is a better punter then a QB. Although IMO he shows some inconsistency at punting. But when he gets a hold of one.........look out. it's a boomer!
UKGEMINI
Obviously the coaches at Western Illinois thought he was a better QB. They saw film of him as a punter and QB and recruited him as a QB.
malachicrunch
HE DID NOT GET A SCHOLARSHIP. HE IS A "PREFEREED" WALK-ON, WHICH MEANS HE WILL BE TREATED AS A SCHOLARSHIP ATHLETE AND WILL NOT HAVE TO TRY OUT AS A WALK ON PLAYER. HE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN A SCHOLARSHIP THE FOLLOWING YEAR. STILL A BIG DEAL FOR DIV-1 COLLEGE FOOTBALL!! GODD LUCK!! I don't know the situation, and I hope the kid succeeds. From what I have found out recently, nothing is guaranteed as a "prefered walk-on". And a lot of programs put it a 2 years before scholarship. Still with one of those being a red shirt year the athlete still has 3 years under scholarship. Kind of risky, especially with NAIA and DII money available.
