LSU 38 OSU 24

Featured Replies

Its a shame that a spot in the national championship game was awarded to OSU. We really need a system that can actually get the 2 best teams playing for the title. I think UGA, USC, Kansas, Missouri, and WVU would have beaten OSU last night.

All those teams mentioned except Kansas had two "L's" They are the only team that had a solid argument about not being in the game. See above post. The current system rewards a full season of Playing well, not just at the end of the season. USC lost to Stanford for cryin out loud. WVU-Pitt. UGA got beat by So. Carolina. Missouri got beat by the same team twice.

Should the title game be the teams that are playing the best right now?

I don't think so. It should reward teams who played well ALL SEASON long. Oh and by the way, the spot in the NC game was not awarded, it was earned!

"They didn't fight back like an SEC team would do," said LSU safety Harry Coleman, who filled in superbly for injured All-American Craig Steltz.

Way to go LSU!

I bet LSURock is having a field day!!! :thumb:

I'm sorry but if you don't win your division in your own conference then you don't belong in the NC game. UGA didn't win the SEC East so sorry about their luck. OSU deserved to be in b/c they did everything they were supposed to do. If the SEC would drop the conference championship game maybe UGA would have been in, but then again maybe not.

Next season's NC game:

OSU vs Winner of SEC

or

USC vs Winner of SEC

I seriously doubt that, but if it does happen that way then I guess go ahead and give us the BCS championship then!:thumb:

OSU plays @ USC next year. The winner of that game has a great shot to go to the BCS

It'll be a lot like the year OSU played Texas at OSU. You knew one of those teams would probably have a shot at the BCS if they beat the other.

Like Herby said last night. Many people around the country feel like The Big 10is somewhere between Conference USA and the Mac.

I have never liked OSU but the last 2 years have made me dislike them more because they have ruined what should be the most entertaining, competitive, fun game to watch each year in college football.

Now....anyone who knew LSURock, knew this was going to happen...

ROCKS, TIGERS (LSU) = CHAMPS

Way to go LSU!

AWESOME!!!

Actually the story is that OSU didn't belong because of the teams... or lack of teams that they beat.

With all due respect ...OSU certainly did belong and it (my opinion) is not going to change :thumb:.

Given how everyone else lost the games that they should have won. Like I said, if other teams would have beaten the teams on their schedule that they should have beaten then OSU would not had been in the conversation. Other teams and fans have no one to blame but themselves and their own failures............................Period.

Now, LSU deserved the win and the NC, no doubt about it and now it is............

back to basketball season and GO BIG BLUE!!!:thumb:

^ I agree...In no way did OSU deserve to be in the title game.

They absolutely did, see my post #144 above as for my reason why.

How can you say they belong in the game. They got spanked and it wasn't even fun to watch. I think you would even admit that USC and UGA would beat OSU. So that puts them at #4 at best (imo) so how does that allow them to earn a shot in the NC.

Honestly, I'm glad they were in the NC. The last thing we needed was for them to dismantle Hawaii and claim best team in the nation.

Did USC and UGA take care of business during the regular season?

Has any team ever lost three straight BSC title games? There may be something to look forward to next year.

How many teams have been in three straight NC games? :D

I would say not many and I would bet that there were 117 other teams in the country that wish they could have been or will be there :sssh::rolleyes:

If Kentucky would have beat Tenn, Georgia would be national champs right now. These debates about this season will go on for years. What a season. Congrats LSU!
