December 12, 200718 yr Meaning that BCG can't coach him to that level? Or simply that he didn't have the talent of JC? Didn't have the talent. Passed the look test, and it pretty much ended there...
December 12, 200718 yr Hope you're right. Don't think you are, but I HOPE you are. :thumb: Why??? Look at Texas A&M right now. They are NC contenders.
December 12, 200718 yr Why??? Look at Texas A&M right now. They are NC contenders. Wow. Where to begin: * I'm not sure he'll be at UK in 3 years. This was the original crux of my point. * Calling A & M "National Championship Contenders" seems a bit over-zealous. * He has moved around so much putting any faith in his ability to build a long-term successful program is nothing more than a guess. * Without the support of the "money-men" in Lexington he'll not be there long and he isn't helping himself any in that arena these days.
December 12, 200718 yr Pitino didn't exactly have a great rep for sticking around when we hired him. Let's wait and see what happens. Wow. Where to begin: * I'm not sure he'll be at UK in 3 years. December 12, 200718 yr OR Sampson!!!! #3 class last year, #15 in the country. Brand new facility being built. Nice try.
December 12, 200718 yr Oh my. We're now comparing Gillispie to Pitino? Tell me again how long Ricky P had been at PU? We'll see.
December 12, 200718 yr Here's my comparison... UK had a great coach named Adolph Rupp, then an underappreciated coach who did a lot by the name of Joe B. Hall, and then a drunk coach named Eddie Sutton who we all want to forget... UK then had a great coach named Rick Pitino, an underappreciated coach who did a lot by the name of Tubby Smith... We can only hope that it doesn't go full circle. However, getting Shawn Kemp Jr. in the picture makes one think things. :creepy:

You may very well be right, but haven't all his moves been up on the coaching ladder? College wise as far as pay and facilities he could only move laterally, and have never heard him mention or anyone else an interest in pro ball. Hopefully his actions off the court will become a little more discreet and we won't have to worry about that.

I'm disappointed that I didn't make that connection...that's right up my alley. :thumb:Great work!
December 12, 200718 yr The sooner this Legion thing ends the better. I hope he has success whatever he does, but I'd prefer him not to return to UK. Gillispie took a shot at a big time recruit and it didn't pan out. Legion landed at UK by a stroke of luck, IMO, so in that sense, nothing is lost. It didn't work. Patterson has been everything we had hoped for and then some...if we can get Meeks and Jasper back healthy, add another solid class next year to go along with getting rid of Joe Crawford...the state of UK basketball isn't that bad. December 12, 200718 yr Didn't have the talent. Passed the look test, and it pretty much ended there... Wow, I didn't see him practice or play that much, but I thought he was better than that.
December 12, 200718 yr “The bottom line is he’s ready to get out of there,” Green said. “ ... Ultimately, in his heart, he wants to move on.” I thought we were blaming this on his Mom?
