Will it be the opposite of the 2007 schedule? Is Highlands going to Hoptown?

 

 

I not sure if some of the games will change. Like the Herbie will be different and I don't know who we will pick up. Yes we do travel to Hoptown.

Not exactly opposite. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Central and Madison Central games was HHS returning the favor from a few years ago. Obviously the week of the Herbie will change. The district games will flip, not sure about Dixie though.

^I'm sure Madison Central will remain. Highlands came to Richmond in 05 and 07. MC went to Fort Thomas in 06.

I'm pretty sure its the opposite, with the exception of Trotwood. Last year was the first year of two year contracts as I understand it.

I hope not. I was looking forward to the trip to Hoptown. It was going to be the Leatherneck family vacation. (Visulize Leatherneck as Chevy Chase and Henry as Christy Brinkley.)

Actually when Henry was a youngster, her parents has a woody wagon. Her father would take Henry, her mother, Homer Rice's wife and daughters to all the away games. As I'd hear those stories, I felt so sorry for him having to drive those long distances with all those women in the car talking incessantly. Probably explains why he wears hearing aids these days.

 

As for the Uncle Eddie and Aunt Edna comment, I'm pretty much spot on for Eddie, but as mean as I am I have to admit that Henry is probably a tad bit better looking than Edna.:thumb:

I know you were just having fun; although I am a pretty good Uncle Eddie, don't you agree?

 

I think the boy fully understands the opportunity. He lifted Saturday, Monday and yesterday, and then went outside and ran sprints on the field.

 

Congrats to your son. As one of the O linemen he played a huge role in getting the state title. As one of the two Blue team linemen that started on the o line, as a former coach, I was very proud of him and Dempsey. We had two Blue team starting on the o line last year, two this year and hopefully at least two next year. Thank goodness Highlands has a great, and I mean great, O line coach to straighten out all the bad things I taught them. While Highlands is blessed to have many wonderful coaches, the job that Turner does each year putting great O lines together is simply amazing. For reasons that are obvious to people that know me, I have the opportunity to talk to a lot of high school coaches from around the state. While they are complimentary of all phases of our program, the thing they talk about the most is the speed, strength and technique of our O linemen each year. Great job Coach Turner.

I'm hearing that Colerain may be replacing Trottwood for next year? I heard this from a few players so I'm not real sure on the info.

 

That wouldn't surprise me at all if we don't and Colerain doesn't get into the Herbie as the programs had agreed to play one another this year if the Herbie didn't work out. But I'll be really surprised if Colerain isn't invited to the Herbie next year. I read that Masillon has been invited to play in the Herbie next year. If I recall, Masillon is not a big D1 program. Maybe the Herbie organizers will invite us to play them. As a team that won in the Herbie this year and won state, plus being close to UC (meaning we should bring a lot of people to the game), I could see where we'd be attractive to the Herbie organizers. Hopefully they agree with my logic.

Update: according to the man, we will be playing Colerain in week 2 at Colerain. The Herbie is tentatively scheduled for our week one. If it was to be played in week 2, the only way we'd not play Colerain in week 2 is if both Colerain and Highlands got into the Herbie. Otherwise next year's schedule is the same as this year's (including Hoptown). We'll play Dixie at Dixie again as we played them two years in a row at Highlands due to their field construction.
