Barring a major surprise, it will be Guidugli throwing to Collinsworth in 2008. Collinsworth is moving to wide receiver for his junior year. Guidugli is the frontrunner at quarterback. Michael Laber is also being moved. He'll play offensive guard. Guidugli will be have great targets in Collinsworth, Hogue, Buten, Roller and others.

Actually Jay got a very legit shot. But as was kind of obvious as the past two seasons went on, Dale wanted to go with a running qb. Dale seems to really like the problems a running qb causes defenses. I don't see much difference in the ability of Guidugli, Bardo and Turner to pass the ball. If one of them demonstrates the ability to run the ball well in Spring Ball, in my opinion it will give that qb a real leg up.

All this talk about spring ball. Why aren't these kids playing baseball? I know most do or have in the past!

Because it interferes with football! (lol)

Because they don't want to. Totally wrong that "most" do or have in the past.

God forbid they play a sport that requires skill... :p:p

No doubt that baseball requires some skill, so you won't get an argument out of me there, my fine friend.

:ylsuper::ylsuper::ylsuper: You can start playing football when your a freshman in high school and still be a stud...You never see that in baseball..

Whatever! Saying "most" was maybe a bit of a reach but "several" do or have played in the past couple of years. Whether AABC, Knothole, or even highschool, there are enough that could make a difference. How about starting with Crawford, Head, Roller, Conner, Collingsworth, , Abner, Hoerner, Turner, Newman, Alford, Brown, Dierig, Jansen, Rosenhagen (Kody and Colin) and Dempsey. I would love to see a big and strong Bardo throw left handed and maybe Guidugli throwing hard right handed. Can never have enough arms. I'm sure that I'm leaving "several" more off. This doesn't even include the Freshman that are going to play. Too bad though, some of these boys would rather work on their tan this spring I guess.

Oh, by the way, is Highlands playing Hoptown in the 2008 season?

And for what its worth, I do agree with you that some of those kids would be very good additions to the baseball team. Spring football in Ky has certainly hurt the baseball programs at some schools in Ky (particularly those with strong football programs like Highlands). I've been told by Dale that he wishes they didn't have Spring football because of its effect on other spring sports. From what I've been told Dale has over the last couple of years worked hard with the Coach Johnson to make it easier for the kids interested in playing Spring football and baseball. However, football being football at Highlands, some kids have decided to concentrate only on football. But its not a one way street. There have been athletes that could have helped the football team not play football to concentrate on other sports. Simpson, Rawlings and Allen come to mind quickly. But they wanted to concentrate on the sport they like the most or think will help them best get college assistance, so you can't really get too bothered by it. High school sports have just changed a lot from the day when you saw lots of kids play three sports. It still happens occassionally; just not near as often as it used to. I think it has a lot to do with the increased level of quality taking place in almost all sports.

Wow, that could be a Regional Baseball contender with those names in the lineup. Speed, power, strong arms, etc etc....
