December 11, 200718 yr So we're really this much in a tizzy because some 20 year old called two other guys "girls"? Seriously. Who cares? I'm sure at some point I've called people/been called worse than that for no more reason. Dumb thing to do. Thats it. Doesn't make him evil.
December 11, 200718 yr I have similar stories about Perry Stevenson and Ramel Bradley.... Some college athletes believe that they are above the standard and I have come to realize. Not that I am saying it is right, it is just something that happens. I feel sorry for the guys that were made fun of. But trust me, since I have been coaching I have been called a lot worse!!!

December 11, 200718 yr If Patrick Patterson did this there would be guys on here saying the same thing you said mobaar. No doubt about it.

No doubt about it. :thumb: The same ones that said he was a jerk because he "drug out" his recruitment until the end of the signing period. Of course, that was when they though he was going to Florida, when he picked UK, they forgot all about it.
December 11, 200718 yr The comments on kentucky sports radio are hilarious, and made me realize even more that this may have been blown out of proportion. Beyond that, I still find his actions unwarranted.
December 11, 200718 yr I'll say this, if this is the worst this kid does...kudos to his parents. While you would hope he treated people with respect and the way he would like to be treated, especially as a representative of the school. (And whether he wants to be or not, he is) I think it's a little much to crucify the kid over this. So maybe he needs a bit of a bigger hat, big deal. There are plenty of those... Again, not ideal behavior by any means but a lot worse could've been done...or even said...
December 11, 200718 yr Is this not kinda what happened at Columbine HS in Colorado? The Jocks picking and making fun of the "different" students. Is that not why they targeted Jocks. Don't kids ever learn????:irked::irked::irked:
December 11, 200718 yr Mark Krebs graduated from Newport Catholic. I believe he was recruited by some D1 schools but went to Thomas More College because his mother was very ill with breast cancer and he wanted to be close to her. He has sacrificed his personal goals in life to be close to his family. Give the kid a break, don’t let this define the young man. Sounds like a great guy but when people that don't know his situation hear things like this: "Can I sit with you girls?" and laughed and walked away. It really makes you think small of the guy. I was a bully at one point and I learned better Eventually he has to take some pride in his character, not making characters of others.
December 11, 200718 yr I remember back when I went to school at WKU and my friends and I would have the occasional run-ins with football players. One of them — who had pro football aspirations at the time — threatened to beat me up on the pick-up hoops court because I laid a hard foul on him. I said, with my best crazy-eyes look, "Go ahead, but don't plan on playing much football after I get healed up. A baseball bat to the back of the knee can leave a pretty bad mark." I never had any trouble with him or any other football player after that.
December 11, 200718 yr I had a problem like that once with a football player from Morehead. Walked up to me and my girl in the one bar there and said some not so nice things. I proceeded to walk outside with him and "discuss" it a little more in depth, never, ever had a problem with a Morehead athlete again.................... If you was really offended that much you should have taken him outside and showed him that you were a man.........................not whine about it on a message board.........
December 11, 200718 yr I'm surprised that this has gotten this much attention but I have no problem with it at the same time. Krebs is simply a kid who's gotten a big head about himself rather than being grateful for the opportunity he has. If he feels he's entitled to that, so be it. I find it funny checking out the locations of all the posters coming to his defense or saying "what's the big deal?".
December 11, 200718 yr He's friends with 98. Is anyone really surprised... :bunny: I know Markie pretty well. Not what I would call "friends". He was a lot younger than me.
