After tonight, I have no respect for Mark Krebs

Featured Replies

Sticky called me fat yesterday, can I start a thread about how much I have lost respect for him?

Come on this is a complete joke. I'll reiterate if this kid was a starter, you'd have laughed.

That wasn't yesterday...

Yet you've made 5 post in the thread.

Each time, basically saying it's ridiculous.

Krebs is very creative in his put downs.

I think this is being blown out of proportion. He called two guys a girl - wow!

I just can't believe after one experience where guy calls another guy a "girl" you lose all respect for him... That's so over the top.

So do you guys go/went to NCC?

absolutely not

Which middle school does Krebs play for again? Grow up kid, you are a walk-on for a not so good college b-ball team.

Tonight, my roommate, girlfriend, and I attended the University of Kentucky's Midnight Crunch Brunch (an event held every finals week to give students a break from studying.) While we were there eating our food, we saw Mark Krebs, Mark Coury, and Jared Carter walk up the stairs. Some of you might not know who he is, but Krebs is a walk-on on UK's basketball team. While walking up the stairs, Krebs stopped for a second to whisper to Coury, and then proceeded to walk up these two guys sitting right beside us and said "Can I sit with you girls?" and laughed and walked away.

We all found this to be a very cruel thing for Krebs to do. These guys we just sitting there, minding their own business, and Krebs went out of his way to make fun of them. It was an extremely cruel and hateful thing to do. I, along with my roommate, will NEVER cheer for Krebs if he ever gets in a game. I have lost whatever respect I would have had for the guy. Some people may think I am over-reacting, but I was raised to treat people with common decency and to stand up for what I believe is wrong and Mark Krebs was most definately wrong tonight.

Sorry for the long post but I had to take a second to vent and stand up for what is right.

I personally know Markie. You are overreacting. First find out if he knew the kids, b/c Markie is one to needle, but he isn't one to start trouble. Secondly, why would he pick out two random guys to say something like that to them. You can come here and blast away, but I'll defend him. I've known Markie for over 10 years, and I'm telling you, that isn't him. I would be shocked if he didn't know them.

My advice to you let it go. He is classless. He thinks because he is an athlete he can pull that stuff. Rise above!!

How can you say that when you don't know the guy? If this defines him for you, so be it. I know Markie, and guarantee you, that if you were to not know him and meet him, you would comment, "Why can't more athletes be like him."

It's amazing how somethings never change. He's been a spoiled brat since he was a kid.So this is no surprise.

As said before, we talked to the guys he called girls and they said they didnt know him and were offended, but said it happened all the time. Its not right when guys think they have a right to make fun of others to make themselves feel better. You may know him, but I know FOR A FACT that he said it and does not know them because I was there.

When you are a local celebrity, you will be judged on how people perceive you when you are out and about. You live in a fishbowl. Right or wrong, it's a fact of life. These guys are known faces, and when one acts stupid, people will talk. Just have to remember you are being watched at all times and act accordingly, or things like this will happen, ESPECIALLY when they are not doing so good.

I'm not calling you a liar. If he said it, then shame on him. However, let's not let this color over who he is. Things have a way of working themselves out. Karma is a crazy thing, and he'll be put in a similar position himself at some point. However, Markie truly is a great person. I'm vouching for him. Sometimes being young is being irresponsible. Until I see otherwise, I will mark this as a growing experience for Markie, and hopefully word gets to him that this isn't cool. Sometimes that's all it takes.

I think it's funny. Funny because if it was anyone else we would have never heard a word about it. Since he is on the basketball team he is not allowed to do anything wrong or else he is the worlds biggest jerk. Come on people it's college not the white house. I am sure over 1,000 things way more rude than that happened that day, in Lexington, by UK students. Give me a break.
