Talked to Terry after the game. He was doing fine. After his huge TD catch and a State Championship, he was feeling no pain. Great job TO:dancingpa

I haven't heard his name called much this year. It was kind of a surprise to hear him getting all this action. He couldn't have done a better job!

Couldnt agree more. That was absolutely critical to keep the train rolling. Birdsfan...you havent heard his name much because of the freight train running game. When you move the ball 7-9 yards a down, that passing game tends to take a back seat.

Well, I kind of figured that, but it seems like, when they were passing, it was to Draper.

BF, you are right he could not have done a better job, but it wasn't a surprise to me at all. Terry looked fantastic all summer in the passing comps and in practices. He has fantastic hands and runs great routes. Plus his blocking on the pitches to Conner was absolutely fantastic. To me, he personalizes the Highlands football player. I think up until this year, he was utilized more as a defensive end, and at that wasn't much of an impact player at that position. But they needed him to play wide receiver and he worked his butt off becoming the best receiver he could. And he certainly became an impact player, wouldn't you agree?:thumb:

One day, the coaches had each player write down their personal goals for that year. His paper simply said, (paraphrasing) "I want to be a great Highlands football player!"

They will never ever forget it, no one can ever take that great accomplishment away from them and they can feed off of their feat and continue to win in life. :thumb:

That was huge and I thought he did a great job of securing the catch before turning to run. Many times you see kids get ancy and drop passes like that because they feel the defender and know they are close to the marker. How about the concentration on that TD catch before the half. In the rain, looking back into the night and never slowing down on his route. At first I thought someone was going to shoot that quail out of the sky but Cecil had enough mustard on it to get it in the right spot because it was right on the money. That was definitely the dagger and it made the pizza at halftime taste that much better.
