Us guys in Franklin County Know that a good QB can really give the suspect Lex. Cath Defense some fits. If it is man Coverage and Blitz as it usually is at Catholic this game will be a high scoring affair. But LC will win the game in the second half.

LexCath's defense has played very well together all year and has already pitched five shutouts. I think their senior dominated D will be ready for the challenge and to get respect of the doubters.

Cinderella has had a nice season and is beautiful to look at but I think she'll have to score every possession to stay with Catholic. Not going to happen. Catholic is bigger, stronger, faster and deeper than any team in 4A and has a larger margin for error. They don't have to play perfect to win.

I just don't get the blowout predictions here in this thread. Hopefully Lexington Catholic will have that same mindset and overlook the Flash. Either way, Lone Oak has had doubters every step of the way and now it's time to prove to the state what a great team this is!

The only two losses Lex Catholic has had this year were to Highlands and St.Xavier, who were both undefeated. I know Lone Oak is undefeated but they aren't quite Highlands and St. Xavier. Lone Oak has done well to get to the championship to play Lexington Catholic, but I don't think Lex Catholic will have trouble with Lone Oak. I also don't think they will "overlook the flash"as you put it....since it is the state 4A championship.

Well darn, I guess the Flash contingent can just save their money and stay at home Saturday.

Warren East claimed the same thing that their only two losses came to state ranked teams too and the Purple Flash seemed to fare well against them.

Still trying to make non-believers believe one at a time.................

Sorry, Everyone in the state is not going to believe Lone Oak will beat Lexington Catholic. It's an opinion. Just like your opinion that they will win. Does that mean since you are saying Lone Oak will beat Lex Catholic, that that means Lex Cath should save their money and stay home.... ????

What passing teams have they shut out? With the a National record breaking QB?

My heart will be rooting for Lone Oak, as I have loved watching them play the last couple of weeks, but having seen LexCath play, not this year Lone Oak. LexCath by at least 2TD's......

Fair enough. I think Lone Oak could very well lose this game but I just don't see it being a blow out. The Knights can't be any bigger than North Bullitt nor can they be any faster than Warren East. They do have the tradition, talent, and schedule and I do respect that aspect of their team.

This game has the feel of a game from the movie Hoosiers. However as much as I want Cinderella to win this Catholic is just too fast and too strong for LO. I predict LC by 20.

Go Lone Oak...make a believer out of them.

With all due respect firstregionking, the Knights will have speed and it will be better than a lot of teams you'll ever see. Lexington Catholic will still have to prove they can beat a unique and prolific passing game next weekend but I'd say Lone Oak needs to look at short out routes and tosses to the backfield because when it comes to the Knight secondary you will see some good cover speed. Still, look for a good game.

Lone Oak's own defense will be the real key here. Lexington Catholic has multiple options that can help the team put up points.

Good luck to both teams. This one isn't over till its been played and truely over.

Also, im tickled by the tradition comment. I know Lex Cath has become a staple in top teams in Kentucky talks over the past ten years but the program is only about 17 years old or less if I remember correctly. The tradition still has plenty of room to grow.

This, in my opinion will be the best State championship game out of all 6.

Regardless of public opinion, the game will be won and lost on the field. I've seen a lot of strange things happen over the last 25 years. Ask Caldwell County about the underdog role, when they were at least 3 touchdown underdogs to a powerful Danville team in the 2A state finals, only to pull the upset and win the game. Lone Oak might not be favored, but that doesn't automatically count them as the loser. Good luck Flash.

This is the best Defensive team Lex Cath has had. They have good players at every position and a Head Coach committed to Defense. Lone Oak will not put up big numbers against this unit. They are fast and aggressive and very strong in the secondary. Also with Guy rushing the passer it will be all very very quick passes.:lol::lol:
