As a Highlands fan I'm really shocked by the blowout predictions although I don't think they're always made by one of our own. Any team that plays Trinity close is not about to be blown out by anybody. I'll go with HHS 20-14.

 

I'm with you. Just spoke with my son. He watched BG on film. He says they are a very, very good team. Pass and run the ball equally well. Fast and physical on defense. I think folks thinking Highlands are going to roll over BG are very, very mistaken. I think the Birds will win, but in a very close game. Good luck to both teams and Go Birds. Win State.

Took a look at stats report to KHSAA 11/24/07:

 

Highlands based on "Total Offense" Rushing 72% Passing 28%

 

Bowling Green based on "Total Offense" Rushing 54% Passing 46%

 

Highlands based on "Total Offense Allowed" Rushing 50% Passing 50%

 

Bowling Green based on "Total Offense Allowed" Rushing 47% Passing 53%

The Birds are a great team also. They would blow us away and stomp our heads if their fans were playing....however, our fans are just as energetic as theirs are....we just keep it to ourselves and let the score and boys to our talking for us.

Our fans are just confident that our team can get the job done. I don't think any of our fans have over-estimated this team.

You couldn't be more sadly mistaken about that! We may see you as a rival in the state titles race, but don't forget, we are in much the same boat in regard to the public/private debates and other statewide issues. NKY (and HHS in particular) has always been the staunchest supporter of the private schools' viewpoint.

 

Besides, everyone knows I'm the biggest Rock fan north of Sparta. So, it's disappointing not to see support from the folks in green.

Another class act up there in Owensboro! We definitely want a chance to meet you and your son someday. I'm glad that your son got to talk with Max last night! Max is a great kid with a super attitude. He's missed only one PAT in his career, and he only wants to get better! His name will be in two places in the KHSAA Record Book after the season is done! Yet he will talk with a fellow kicker and wish him well in his career. Automatic Max makes us proud! He never misses a chance to talk with us at halftime and to swap skin with me as he enters and exits the playing field!

 

Yes I hope we get to meet up before my son's high school career is done. He talked to his buddy the true Art-o-matic himself Art Carmody this morning about the game last night. He really wanted to kick on Papa John's so Art could be at the game but is was not to be. Hopefully before my son's career is all said and done Automatic Max will move one spot down in those record books. My son I think has only missed 2 XP since 7th grade and the one he missed this year was in a 56-0 blow out in which you would have thought they lost because he really did not want to miss all year. Although our team's season is over my son's isn't as he has to go to California for the kicking.com finals in January so he will be back at it on Monday even if it is snowing just like last off-season. Hopefully if you can get me some info I would like for my son to maybe go to a camp that Max goes to so they can chat a little more. One other note Carmody has been wonderul for my son and just to think next year as m son enters his sophmore year he will have an NFL kicker he call for advice and just to talk that is just a wonderful thought.

I know that it may be closer than I want it to. I love an exciting game as much as the next guy, but I hope this one isn't too close. BG is a worthy adversary, HHS is just so fundamentally strong. I have never in the years that I have watched HHS Football seen a team that is so dominant. I truly believe that if HHS were in 6A, they'd still be going to State this year. It's a shame that the KHSAA had to adjust their schedule and let it "work out" that Louisville teams play each other in the final each year. I know, I know, if someone wants to get there, all they gotta do is just win. Easier said than done. I digress.

 

Between my nephew and I (who have a combined 4 rings-3 for him and 1 for me) we have never seen a dominant team like this HHS 07 team. It's like they are just getting bigger, faster, and stronger as the year goes on. It's kinda scarey. Highlands will win this game but it will not be a blowout. As nervous as I was about the last two "unknown" teams, I am more nervous about the ones that handed it to us in 95. Birds, stay the course. Just go in there and do what you gotta do. Let's bring home Number 17. Also, in response the the post earlier saying that we have enough titles already, THERE WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH!!!!!! Thats like saying you have enough money.
