I know most all of the starters for the Freshman at Mason just got out of football recently.They will be fine and Coach Gilbert isnt coaching Freshman.

Theres a new boy who transferred here this year named Cody Riley. He had 22 points and rebounded the ball well. This was the first time I got to see him play and I was impressed. We will see how well he does against the JV tonight. Adam Pruitt had a good game even though he didnt score alot. He plays hard and plays good defens. And Justin McCann did a decent job running the point guard postition. He handled the pressure well and didnt turn the ball over as often as in the past. I think the freshman team will only get better with time together.

Heard on the Brossart broadcast tonight that St. Henry bested the Mustang' frosh by a point or two. Don't know the score or any details?

Ryle freshmen won big against Scott yesterday.

Clark frosh defeated Paris by 18 on monday and Montgomery by about 15 Thursday. My nephew is on team and said they did not play well either game. I think they play Mason Monday p.m.

I cant believe Mason lost this game to Lex Cath unless some of its players have been pulled up to play JV/ Varsity. Mason's freshamn team is one of the most experienced, talented group of players around. I have seen this team along with Coach Gilbert, play since the kids were 3rd graders...and win!

 

This was a tough game for Mason frosh to open the season with. Lex Cath frosh are pretty good and have been playing together for a while. The combination of a new head coach and little practice time for Gilbert and Pawsat contributed alot to this loss. Coach Butler will be fine and so will the team after a few weeks together. I believe Coach Gilbert is the assistant and just started helping the day of the game. Interesting to see if Gilbert plays freshman ball all year, he looked like he was at a different level than the rest.

Freshman team has literally no bench.... if they could move up 3 eight graders it would help tremendously with rotation and competiveness. Look for Gilbert to play freshman, jayvee, and some varsity before season is out. Good handles, sees the court exceptionally well, much improved shooter, super quick, but most importantly the heart and determination to get it done. Winner all the way around.

Typical early season freshmen game. Brossart led early, St. Henry clawed back into it. Ask and answer down the stretch. Tied in the waning seconds. We foul the jump-shooter who hits one of two. Ballgame.

Welcome to the BGP family jethro p. I also want to state that GRC Freshman team is playing without 5 of their players, Stenzel, Rogers, Pervis, Daniels and Martin. All 5 are dressing for varsity and so far 2 have been starting, and a 3rd one getting lots of PT.

Future looks very bright for GRC.
