WOW!! Wasn't Highlands pretty good in 8th Grade last year. Are there a few guys from Highlands playing up to JV???

 

Im not so sure this is a strong group of Highlands kids. I am assuming that some of the better athletes who played on the Frosh Football team are not on the B-ball Roster which may be a good thing. I know they have a very nice guard in Al Dean. I really like his play and Ryan Egan is a very good outside shooter. Abner on the boards is a major hustler. Outside of that I dont know if this group will be much to count on except for a couple kids. Without me seeing them play its tough for me to even post but going off of what I saw last year and also assuming they may be having the same issues as last year.

This was the first game for the freshman team and unfortunately it was against a quality opponent that has already played a few games this year. They need to be given a little time before judgement is passed. I can tell you one thing for sure, there will be no "issues" this year.

I know one , winning a game . Highlands needs to wake up, there is not alot of very good players from the 9th down , If there was some of the guys would be playing on the better AAU teams around 5 FOOT guards cannot get it done sorry . Also I have watched some games they play SOFT . Maybe they should eat more meat then cake sorry call it as I see it...

Dont be sorry, your entitled to your opinion. All kids grow at different intervals and you will see some of the kids shoot up soon. It just hasnt happened for many of the kids yet. Just curious, what do you know about the AAU teams they play for? Having one or two kids go out and make an NKY All star AAU team in my opinion is not as beneficial as having 6-8 of them playing together in AAU ball which is what the 7th grade group has done for 3-4 years. I am not sure what the 8th and 9th grade kids are doing as far as AAU. Could they play more aggressively probably but much of that has to do with the personalities of these kids. They are all good kids who work hard, love the game and love playing together.

Any word on other NKY frosh teams?

I know that they have finally found a pretty good choice for the 8th grade team and now all they need is to improve the 7th grade situation. I have sat in the stands and watched this act for the past several years and I am not impressed.

Newcath beat a pretty good Conner team 44-40, aafter trailing by 14 at half.

Ryle beat Dixie tonight, don't know the score just know it was a double digit win and could've been worse.

I haven't heard a lot about SK freshmen team yet. Who are the top players? Did all of the football players come out for basketball or will they just focus on football?
