Brooks to retire?

Featured Replies

Locke and Dixon are good RBs but I just went through RBs this past year that are in the small size mold, and like Bama you need someone bigger to get the tough yards.

There is also Smith, Allen, Grintner, & Conner.

:thumb: RB shouldn't be a concern next year.

Dixon 5-9 205

Locke 5-10 185

Smith 6-1 200

Allen 5-7 225

Grinter 6-3 240

Conner 5-11 230

These are this years heights and weights.

I think we'll be fine in the backfield. Add in the running QB and we'll be looking pretty good, IMO.

Look for Brandon Jackson next year at RB they say he is a beast on the scout team.

Also look for Grinter at TE.

Cats Pause reporting that Rich is going nowhere.

The program needs the stability that Brooks has delivered. I hope he can continue to work his plan. The program has gotten better every year under him.

Offensive line may struggle again next year, we lose C Eric Scott and G Jason Leger, but we were able to get several guys some experience this year. The offensive line really needs to be solid for the Cats to have success next year.

Duncan and Johnson who split time with Leger at the two guard positions will step in and be a nice replacement for Leger. Not losing much there except for depth. Pretty much all of the tackles on the roster are back, and a center can be found without a doubt. I dont see Scott as a huge loss. Duncan will have a full year under his belt and should be able to be a very good guard for them next year. Johnson hopefully will get to participate in spring practice this year and look better for next year. Leger was a strong guy, but I think next year the guard positions will have an improvement from this year.

Hate to see Sanders go... IMO he takes with him any hope Pulley had at being a good QB...

You need to elaborate on this! Any credibility to this statement??

Maybe UK will bring in a coach that has coached the "spread offense".

Some rumblings out there about where this retiring was started, including a spike in negative recruiting against UK.

Randy Sanders played the position and has coached the position for many years. If he were to go, it would be a great loss.

Rich Brooks has been in a head coach for over twenty years in college and a few in the NFL and is very well connected. If Randy Sanders leaves, he will find an excellent replacement. Also, if this does happen, Randy's replacement will tell a great deal about what style offense will be run next season in Commonwealth Stadium as well as who the probable starting quarterback will be.

I think I know.

You know the coach or the QB?

Pulley and the frosh will go at it.

Matt Lentz the redshirt frosh is very highly thought of and can run the spread.

Check out post #58

There's nothing official yet, maybe by the end of the week there will be... Cat Pause had something about it and so did Matt Jones.
