Its not like the TOs were against the second team, Letcher Forced both turnovers. Couldent capitalize of course, but the fact that they forced an offence of this calibur to make mistakes like that is saying something about them isnt it? If you want to think about it like that then it would have only been 21-28 at the end of the first if Letcher could have capitalized on the HHS TOs

15 plays 5 TDs in the 1st half. I appreciate that Letcher came to play and I thought they were very good for a 3 year program. I loved the QB, tough kid. And your right they were forced TOs by good plays. I just don't see how anyone comes out of a 52-12 game and think it was close or competitve.

I talked to one of my teammates from that 1981 team last night and he remembers this (names have been omitted) about their running back:

 

"Dang, he was a little guy and I thought 'I am going to kill him when I hit him', but the first time I tried to tackle him he knocked the [deleted] out of me."

I spent some time chatting with that little guy last night. He was looking forward to seeing you all again. Oh, and my brother was on the '79 team that you all played against.

Lets hold the phone here folks. I'm not seeing this as anything close to a "Birds name the score" game. Lincoln Co deserves a lot more respect than they are getting in this thread. I hope some of these blow out posts are just a matter of some folks getting a little caught up in beating CovCath by a lot last week and doing the same to Letcher (and perhaps a matter of a little post game party celebrating). No disrespect to either of those two teams, but my sources tell me Lincoln is significantly better than those two teams. They way they beat Johnson Central should mean something; actually it should mean a lot.

Birds need a very solid week of practice. So far they've handled each week with focus, discipline and commitment. They are so close to reaching the venue that will allow them to achieve their dream. But they must take Lincoln very seriously or those dreams will go up in smoke and it won't be smoke from the cannon.

 

I'm telling you folks, Lincoln is a pretty good dang football team.

The point is, they did turn it over. Also, Letcher did move the ball pretty well at first until they woke up the angry beast(HHS-Defense).

 

So did Lincoln come out of the game last night unscathed? Are they coming into the Titanic Struggle at 100% health?

Lincoln has very good OL/DL. Play excellent defense especially against the run.

 

Are the lines big, fast, or a combination.

JC was completely shut down in the second half, regardless of their two players out. Lincoln deserves more respect than what is shown. Hands down JC got beat, end of story.

Does anybody have a schedule of the teams that LC has played? The wins/losses and scores would be nice too if anyone could manage that. Thanks

What can you tell us about any standouts for LC? Are there any players that are fun to watch? Give us some insight on this team. I would like to know a little about an opponent that hasn't graced David Cecil Memorial Stadium in 26 years.

Lincoln's QB is very good.....as are #31 and #24 Young for them on both sides of the ball. They don't have huge lineman, or probably any D1 skill players, but they are solid at all positions. Don't expect to see the athletes of Trotwood-Madison, Lincoln simply doesn't have them.

Lincoln's QB is very good.....as are #31 and #24 Young for them on both sides of the ball. They don't have huge lineman, or probably any D1 skill players, but they are solid at all positions. Don't expect to see the athletes of Trotwood-Madison, Lincoln simply doesn't have them.

 

Thats a good thing not being like Trotwood Madison. I am not going to talk bad about a program, but they just didn't seem to work together as a team. It just seemed like 11 individuals out there when we played them this year. I believe that's why HHS won. Highlands is that same way of working with all 11 together. They play well as a group.

Never seen gnats that big before. Except when I was watching the ALDS at Jacob's field and those things were attacking the players. I think its too cold out for those now. There's one good thing about cold weather, no bugs.
