Defending 16th champions, win a game at the Sweet 16, don't lose any players, impressive scrimmage win...coaches vote Elliott #2 in the pre-season polls.

 

Put it all together and I'd say we can clearly see validation as to the level of coaching excellence in this region. I've heard this talk about Rose Hill for several years now. Just one problem, I'm yet to see the proof on the court. I hope Rose Hill has a great season, but they haven't done anything to be voted #1 just yet.

If Rose Hill comes out and starts the season 10-0 and defeats Elliott, then I"ll be first in line to vote them #1. I'm not trying to knock them because I know they're a talented bunch, but they're going to have to earn a #1 spot in my book.

I am not sure about Fairview..I dont think most people believe they will have much anyway, but Bath will be better than expected.

When they play, Elliott by 12+.

Good to see St. Pat at number 6. Coach Henson really thinks they can win the All-A tournament.

Rose Hill has always held a special place in Cubster's heart, he started the thread, perhaps it's his own moniker.

Rose Hill is hyped more than any team in the state. Elliott is the best team in the 16th. They are more talented, have more heart, and have a player that is part blue collar and part red bone man.

I know that Rose Hill has a great team, and for all anyone knows they are the number one team in the region, but with what Elliott Co has coming back off a quarterfinals apperance in the state tournament, plus the developement of Timmy Knipp, they should be number one until someone takes that away from them. Thats just my opinion.

From what I can see none of the coaches sent their ballots in except the ones from the schools in Boyd Co.

The 11th region looks to be by far the toughest region this year.

I'm the first to admit that any team proves its merits on the court, not on paper... but I do think its funny how a source with no particular dog in the hunt offers an unbiased shapshot and the emotions fire up. :lol:

 

I like the poll, and certainly hope that's how the season plays out, but something tells me the boys in Elliott aren't gonna roll over just because the CJ said so.

Fairview has more than you think. They just need a bit more experience. If you are surprised by Bath then you havent been paying very much attention over the past couple of years.

Correct, Bath was solid and very young last year!
