I'm the first to admit that any team proves its merits on the court, not on paper... but I do think its funny how a source with no particular dog in the hunt offers an unbiased shapshot and the emotions fire up. :lol:

 

I like the poll, and certainly hope that's how the season plays out, but something tells me the boys in Elliott aren't gonna roll over just because the CJ said so.

I expect Madison Johnson from Corbin to leapfrog several players in the player rankings before this season is over and end up in the 5-8 range.

East returns 3 starters (Drew Johnson, Ryan Seagraves, Tyler Jackson)and sixth man (Kyle Bair) from last years team that made it to the Regional Semi-Finals. Sophomore Colt Barnhill joins them in the starting lineup this year. Strong bench - juniors Devin Kawada and Mark Pemberton will see a lot of playing time. Very athletic team with good size.

What was their record last season? Did they have a solid year or did they just get hot at the right time?

East had a sub .500 season and got hot at the right time.

With the two best players in the Region on the same team, I am sure Elliott will just mail it in and let Rose Hill have the title. This slight may be just what the Lions need for a little bulletin board reading. I wonder what they have to do to get a little respect from the papers, move the school to Ashland? If it had been a Boyd County school returning this season in the same situation as Elliott I suspect I know who would be ranked first in both the teams and players.
