I dont normally respond to this type of bull but this morning i'm sick(flu) and grouchy and it actually felt pretty good. Also figured I was shaming Leonidas(avatar) by not standing up and fighting back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would venture to say that Chris Lofton was the best player in the 10th and he wasn't on U.Ks' list either. I'm sure none of the low major D1 players of Gardner Webb were either:D Just because UK doesn't have you on their list doesn't mean you are not the best player in your respective region. The Rankings we are discussing are based on right now also, not what someone will be in the future. As of RIGHT NOW!!!!! Ferguson has accomplished more in the 16th Region than any of the players ranked above him!! Thats not saying that at the end of this year or next year or next someone wont blow him away but as of right now he would have to get the nod. Elliott's team has also accomplished more than any other team thats active in the region right now!! #1

I wouldn't worry too much about it. People in general that follows the high school level knows what the truth is. You have a few kids with three or five-plus D1 offers and they don't get the nod. One mis-placed or biased top vote can make the whole ranking appear out of sync.

 

The point is, facts do carry weight but not neccessarily when votes like these occur. Ferguson has gotten it done. In the end, the only real thing that matters is getting to the next level and playing ball at the college level while getting an education for free. Just tell Ferg to keep playing his game and everything else will take care of itself.

In a way, they did conquer the world. They exceeded all expectations when all proclaimed them impossible. Sound familiar?

The votes are always skewed. What's more important, being ranked at the top of a high school poll or playing D1 basketball?

I can certainly see your point about Elliott being #1 but it is also understandable to expect that a team with 2 UK recruits may be pretty good. While there may be several players on Elliott who are NAIA or lower level D1 there is no one on that team who will be recruited heavily, if at all, by any MAJOR D1 schools. While those in the 16th may feel that Elliott is the best, and probably are, those around the state see those 2 high profile recruits and naturally give the nod to them.

 

As for Euton and Jackson, it is not unrealistic to think that Billy Gillispie knows a little bit about basketball and if those 2 are on his list and no one else is in the 16th, they must be the 2 best players in that region. He should probably be ahead of Thomas though.

There is no way in the world Ferguson should be #4 he should be higher and Petit shouldnt be in the top 15. That is what I was trying to say the 1st time.:thumb:

I think you should go see Petit play before you say he is not in the top 15. He is a legit big man that had a great summer. I think he made the All Star team at Blue Chip camp and is a very legit college player at some level.
