Mayfield's practice will be around 10am for their normal Thursday pregame practice and will let the kids go home and eat dinner with their families around noon or so. Mayfield always has a lot of people out for the Thanksgiving practice time and should do so again this year. It has become a tradition at Mayfield...practice, eat, watch games on tv Thursday and play on Friday.

Its "GREAT" to be one of the teams thats making it ,and pratice is part of the game. We all should give thanks for all the young athletes that has performed so great this year. As a fan i know we have so much to be thankful for and if we get the chance to play on the Pizza field ,thats makes it so much better,and really when summer pratice starts the Coaches and Players have that in mind,playing in Louisville at pizza stadium,so Thanksgiving pratice is great.

Even more fun for them to get to practice in the snow!

Atleast that is what I am hearing- rain changing to snow on Thursday.

I never realized that the Thanksgiving day practice was such a big deal to other progams. when I was at Newcath i dont think anyone was there to watch are morning practice, and if there were they didn't get much of a show. Maybe it has changed though in the last few years.

I think a lot of people just use that as a chance to show support and encouragement to the team. Everyone is off work and it is a great time to meet and greet.

 

Belfry parents always have a Thursday cookout or meal for the players and coaches after practice. It is a tradition that starts with the first week of each season and is carried on each week by parents and boosters throughout the year(s).

 

On Thanksgiving I think Belfry parents usually have a traditional Thanksgiving meal for the players and coaches prepared or catered. I'm sure they are probably doing something like that this week. It is a nice tradition.

 

Then on Thursday night, they have typically had a parade and pep rally, sometimes with a bonfire. But this is usually semi-final week so I don't know what they have planned along those lines if anything.

I'm not saying when Bardstown practices Thursday. You never know when someone from Ft. Campbell might be flying up with one of the predator spy plane drones to spy on us.

The week later start has to do with more teams participating than the SIX class system. Sure there would be more (24 to be exact) but not 48.

It is a real shame that all these kids and their fans and their parents and the community are getting to experience the feelings of practicing on Thanksgiving.

 

This aberration of more kids having success and creating life long memories needs to STOP.

 

What horrors are we heaping on our kids by going to 6 classes.

Does Pikeville practice tomorrow, are they being like other teams and going in the morning?

About 99% sure that it's the same as normal. They usually get on the field around 8:00...
