BG seems to be really clicking right now, as they have all season.

Yep, the game's in Elizabethtown, not at The Big El. When John Hardin created their varsity program in 2001, they were sooo wise to hire Head Coach Mark Brown away from Nelson County! That alone causes problems. To complicate matters, they got a ton of top notch athletes when they created the John Hardin school district. This was a football colossus just waiting to happen!

 

On the other hand, John Hardin handed BGHS their only Homecoming loss since 1985 (2002) the last time the two tangled. I don't think that the Bulldogs have seen the likes of the Purples all year long. Back in 2002, the Purples were depleted by graduation and were one dimensional in offense. No more. The Purples' defense has been awesome in the playoffs to date, and I hope that they can keep it up. One way or the other, the BGHS offense will beat you. Trinity had all of QB Trent Steelman's receivers covered, so he takes off on an 80 yd scoring jaunt! They might be contained temporarily, but you will not stop them. I think that BGHS continues their march to Louisville, but it will by no means be easy!:thumb:

John Hardin has a top flight defensive line, one that control the line of scrimmage with just four down. I don't see a lot of break away running by the Purples. However, JH has shown some weakness in the secondary and that is where Steelman could exploit if he is on.

 

The Dawgs have two outstanding backs in Matt Denham and Elias Camper. They are both extremely fast and elusive. Denham is particular does not go down. They throw just enough to keep you honest.

 

No question that BGHS is the favorite, but if there is one thing that Mark Brown will do (as St. X fans will tell you) its game plan. I think this one will be a real good high school football game.

The only team BG has faced this year that will challenge them like John Hardin was Trinity.

 

This is a game about matchups and game plan. Coach Brown is one of the best at taking advantage of his advantages.

I thought from the moment I saw the bracket that this would be a GREAT h.s. football game. There will be a ton of good football games played in KY this weekend but this one may just be the best of the bunch.

JH has 0 D-1 players on that team and just a handful of seniors. JH too young and inexperienced. BG will likely intimidate them early. BG takes this one....42-20:thumb:

I believe everyone in 5A will be watching this game very closely; both teams come into the game with a head of steam. I do agree with EasyPro that BG has to be the favorite to win because of senior leadership. Be aware that Coach Brown will have his team prepared to play with the Purples, JH young QB will need to step up and make plays something he has not been ask to do all year. If BG comes to Bulldog stadium not prepared for JH speed it could be a long night for the Purples. If the game goes into the 4th quarter with the game still in the balance look for JH to have the advantage playing at home, but if BG jumps out to a quick lead could be a long night for the Bulldogs. My heart wants to say John wins a close one, but I think the Purples have too much leadership for John to overcome.

Let's go PURPLES!!!!!

This will be a great game. PH and I decided not to go because of his pressure sores...we will be listening to it on the radio. Of all the games that the Purples have played, this should be the most exciting....other than the T game. I think it will be a close game, however, BG will pull it off. We have a wonderful D and O this year and don't see us letting this game go without the win. I think BG will have to work hard for the win...and will work hard for it, but will pull it off. However, looking at how they played T this year, it might not be as close of a game that I am thinking. I don't think it will be the blow out that they have pulled off most of the season,, I do think JH will score several times. I don't know what to guess the score at. It could go a couple of ways....I will just say BG wins by at least 3 TDS.
