LHC has a very talented Qb named Jimmy Nauert, who can move around, has a strong arm, and a lot of talent. He is a junior, has been starting since he was a freshmen. When under pressure, he will force throws. When he gets in a rhythm he can be very good.

 

LHC always has a kid named McDermott and a kid named Nail. This year's version of those two is not quite as good as predecessors. McDermott is a good defensive player.

 

They have a fullback named Greg Raney who is very emotional and will lose his temper.

 

They have a pretty good TE, about 6'2", named Schum.

 

LHC is always very big and very strong. They average maybe 250 or so on the offensive line. However, this year's lineman are not quite as athletic as LHC has had in year's past and have trouble sustaining blocks.

 

They will mix it up offensively. Defensively, if you have enough passing game to keep them from charging, they become flat.

 

The key with any big win over Holy Cross the past few years has been physicality. When teams right off the bat hit them in the mouth and don't take their shots, then LHC loses steam. They are a very emotional team and try to get very charged out right out of the gate. If you stun then very quickly, it will be no problem. If you allow them to gain steam they can be veyr tough.

Holy Cross also has two MONSTER D-linemen, both have to be over 300 pounds.

 

The only HC game i saw this year was when they were defeated by piekville in the season opener. I was impressed with the QB that game, but surprised at the playclling by their coaching staff. It seemed anytime the offense got in a groove they went away from what was working or tried a trick play that backfired. Speaking of which, Beechwood can expect HC to throw the kitchen sink at them.
