Mayfield handled the teams that ran a similar scheme to Frankfort pretty well. Frankfort's stats show that they do not fancy having to pass. I think this plays well into the Cards strengths. The biggest factors I've seen so far have been the health issues. Mayfield maybe in big trouble if McNutt is not up to the task. lawson is already done and Armstrong and Kemp have been less than 100%. ALSO IF the LONG SNAPPER problems are not fixed this week good bye Cardinals. Frankfort's health is also in question in Fields and the sophmore who had the hip pointer.

This is 1A and neither has quality spare parts (players) laying in wait for the chance.

 

McNutt is still uncertain for friday's game as of tuesday but will prolly be more of a closer game time decision. The long snapper problem should be fixed by having the offensive center Trevor Williams snapping. Lawson will be in a hard cast and they will be able to wrap it up and let him play. It will look more like a boxing glove on his hand. Armstrong is pretty much at 100%.....the only thing is that he is not very used to playing the whole game on both sides of the ball due to that shoulder but in the playoffs he has been doing it with some occasional breaks on D. Kemp should be fine as long as he keeps hydrated. Another thing is if Murrell keeps running the ball like he has the past three games then i believe it will be hard for anybody to contain him. He is just so quick and small that it is hard to see him over the tall lineman and he has great vision.

I feel it was justified at the end of the regular season. As it turned out, they were a little high, but, it's hard to argue with the results they had throughout the season. They weren't a dominant force, but, overall, they were a very solid class A team..I would still have them in the Top 5-7 teams in there class...

Some of us knew better ...

Westcoaster...I hope you are right about Lawson being able to at least try to go as the last that Coach Morris told me was that Lawson might be able to come back IF we get to the finals, but probably not before then. But Jonathan is a tough kid and I hope he is able to come back. Also the latest that I hear is that if the decision had to be made on McNutt right now would be that he would not play this week, but it still early in the week and Tommy is working hard to get to play this week as he knows that special teams play could decide the outcome of who moves on and who packs up the gear after Friday night.

 

I don't think that dehydration will be much of an issue...maybe a little upset stomachs this week as the trainer is having them drink some pickle juice to help keep them hydrated.

I have talked to Mayfield's trainer and he said that the doc. is putting Lawson in a hard cast and as long as they wrap it up then he can atleast try and play. Lawson is a very determined kid and loves the idea that he can play again and hopefully help mayfield make it to the top.

As long as they are padded and wrapped, Im pretty sure they can. It will have to be checked out by an official before the game though.
