Has LC every played anybody in the mountains besides 1A Pikeville?
Looking at the scoreboard site, it appears LexCath played in Corbin's bowl game in 2001 and 2002. They beat Danville in 2002 and beat Corbin in 2001, although that win was later forfeited. They also played at Southwestern in 2002, another win that was later forfeited.

It is @ Bell Co. Don't believe everything you hear. The LHL said it was a LC this weekend in the paper they were wrong. It will be played in the Mountains.

Not this year Leo - of course there have been several games played against Rockcastle through the years, but I am not sure of the varied definitions of the 'Mountains' - so if you define Rockcastle county as the mountains, then the answer is yes - just not this year.

And one more thing - we all should know that we can never believe what is printed in the Lexington Herald Leader - talk about your 'Kitty Litter Times'!

Bell County

How high will the grass be? ;)

Is grass still growing? I haven't mowed my grass in a month now.

Is Log Mountain getting the same rain we are getting right now. If so, i want to change my prediction to the team with Natural grass. Hopefully Coach Letton was smart enough to practice all week in the front yard of Lexington Catholic. Maybe even have the local fire department come by occasionly to dampen the grass. I know in 2004 Highlands practiced in Death Valley the week prior to Bell County. It really helped!!!!

No rain in this area today, sunny and in the 70's. The forecast is calling for rain Thursday, then sunny again Friday. I would guess that the field will be in good shape Friday night.

Gauging from the poll results so far where Bell County has kept a consistent lead at 60%, I guess that if Lexington Catholic can manage to pull out a victory on Friday night then it would be considered an upset. Go Knights - it's always good to be the underdog!

Wow, it cracks me up when people get on to Coach Hilton for the stuff he says.

Also, I truly do not understand why any Rockastle fans are on here saying negative stuff about Coach Hilton and Bell County, except for the reason of being beat twice by Bell this year.

I quoted him, it was a link to an article.:flame:

I never ever said anything negative about Hilton. If you take that as negative then he is talking bad about himself because I've put nothing but quotes. I was even called out to produce such aquisations and I did so, yet I still get ganged up on. Just because I am a Rock fan doesn't mean I can't discuss the game. If you recall I was the one who started the Congrats 300 club thread to him and Haywood. It is cheap shot to say I am backlashing because Rock got beat twice because we could play this game all night, it was Bell's first playoff win over Rock ever, enjoy it. The tides are forever changing.

I even tried to calm some of the city mice because of the field conditions, the field is not in bad shape, it has beautiful dried up bermuda which is typical of a playoff field this time of year. If Catholic doesn't like it then they should donate some $$$ to the fund for turf at Bell County. It has always killed me that when the distant region opponents come to our region and complain about the field. It is called homefield for a reason. Heck the year Rock had to play at Catholic (2005) I should've been complaining that the turf was too quick and allowed for them to out speed the Rock.

The last thing you need to read on this post is me reiterating myself by saying I never said anything negative and posted only quotes, if you or any other Bobcat fan feels different then talk to him about his quotes. We at Rock appreciate you backing up any false comment made by Larkey, because that was already settled on here and was quoted word for word from WYMT and no one seemed to think it was that bad, when things go to print from TV it seems different than what it was meant.

Just a reply from an earlier post. Although LexCath hasn't played anybody from the mountains this year,(except Pikeville) Bill Letton used to coach at Prestonsburg. He knows just how special high school football is in these areas. He will have his team ready for the environment at bell county.

I don't think Log Mountain Boy was taking that kind of approach..... Speaking of playoff victories - How many times has Rock beat Bell in the playoffs? Twice? 2-1 is not too much of a lopsided affair. I know Rock has had some really, really great teams in the past, and whenever the Rockets have won the Region, I know most Bobcat fans wished the Rock the best of luck against the rest of the state. ..... Also, I don't think the tides are changin'. They've changed about four times since 2001 already, and neither team has a bunch of seniors this year, so I don't expect a big swing in dominance next season.... Also, 3 wishes, do you mind to PM me the Larkey quote? He's been nothing but kind to me when I've interviewed him in the past - especially when Rockcastle hosted the 13th Region boys basketball tournament. (He unlocked the hospitality room for me!!) However, he did decline comment after one loss to Bell County in '02. I would just be interested to know the comment mentioned in this thread. Thank you very much.

Thanks, 3 Wishes. I always think that your posts are fair and accurate. I enjoy hearing from you and miss it when we cannot have serious dialogue. I believe this will be one of the best games in the Mountain Region in the last several years. I would have favored Rock in 2005 if you guys could have had it on your field. Also that Burke guy...too...wasn't it? LOL! Sorry, that one of us Bell/Rock has to stay home....just like the Bell/LexCath winner....some years I think our district title game between Bell and Rock is better than the games on up the bracket. I hope the Bobcats bring their A-game Friday night and continue to gain respect for Mountain football! Thank you, for you and the Rockcastle faithful's support. Go District 7!

No need to PM, it was discussed in this forum earlier. The link to the thread is included along with exact quotes that were inputed as you scroll down.

:thumb:Back at you.

I don't see what the big deal is about that comment? Is he not the winnest public school Coach in the history of Ky? (With a another wonderful Mtn. Coach not far behind in Phillip Haywood)

I think sticking to the game and not grinding axes maybe the best for everyone.

Who is if he isn't??????
