I believe a similar scenario played out like this as well when Catholic traveled to Bourbon County. They got caught on a wet field and lost their footing. I don't think the forecast will call for as much rain or mud that was on Bourbons field that year though.

Its raining now in bell county and the forecast is calling for rain throughout tomorrow and a possible chance of snow tomorrow night...she make for a messy game. On a sidenote I hope that Cath doesnt go with the blue jerseys black pants and bell the black jerseys/blue pants....My head would explode about 3 minutes into that one.

Just a reply from an earlier post. Although LexCath hasn't played anybody from the mountains this year,(except Pikeville) Bill Letton used to coach at Prestonsburg. He knows just how special high school football is in these areas. He will have his team ready for the environment at bell county.

Yes and if my memory is right Rock came to the carpet in Lexington that year.

This trip into the Mountains will be like no other. You can talk about it, show pictures of it, but until you come to the mountains in the playoffs you never know what you are getting into. ;)

Happy Turkey day to all!!

I hope both teams come out healthy after a hard fought game.

It is @ Bell Co. Don't believe everything you hear. The LHL said it was a LC this weekend in the paper they were wrong. It will be played in the Mountains.

Has LC every played anybody in the mountains besides 1A Pikeville?

Don't worry about playing in the mountains, Lex Cath. Legend has it that the last time Highlands traveled to log mountain, they only needed one player to win the game!:jump:

Wow, it cracks me up when people get on to Coach Hilton for the stuff he says. Does LexCath not pull in kids from all over Lexington because of their good coaches, great facilities, and other benefits? I am not saying I blame anyone, but I would guarantee you that there are several players on the LexCath football team that are there mainly because of football. And if so that is their business. Coach Hilton was just stating the obvious.

Also, I truly do not understand why any Rockastle fans are on here saying negative stuff about Coach Hilton and Bell County, except for the reason of being beat twice by Bell this year. You guys shouldn't by too much into it. If I remember right about all the Bell County fans even took up for Larkey earlier this year when his comments were criticized on BGP by a lot of people after the Bell County game. Including myself.

I think you may have taken it the wrong way. No one is saying negative stuff about Bell but what I posted really did happen I have no reason to lie about it. It was a riveraly game between both teams and usually is a good riveraly match. But when you hear someone talk bad about your team you will stand up for them and I know you feel the same way as I do. So let's drop the Bell and ROCK game what is done is done let's wait and see what next year brings. So back to the topic can Bell handle Lex Cath??? Best of luck to both teams!!!!!

Do you really want to be the guy to bring that up?

We all know that game was a load of you know what, and the trophy is sitting in Bell County where it belongs.

Unless you just got Field turf...

I thought I saw #16 in the HHS trophy case in the gym.

I played in the Bell vs. Highlands '05 game so I think I may know a little more than you. The state semi-finals trophy is sitting in Bell Co.'s trophy case. The picture you have is of the state championship trophy and the game we were discussing is the state semifinals game. Bell Co. was awarded the semi-finals game. So, now you know. Also 1-14 state champs, I don't think that is much to brag about, but that is a whole other can of worms.

Back to the matter at hand Bell vs. Lex Cath '07 if you please.

I quoted him, it was a link to an article.:flame:

I never ever said anything negative about Hilton. If you take that as negative then he is talking bad about himself because I've put nothing but quotes. I was even called out to produce such aquisations and I did so, yet I still get ganged up on. Just because I am a Rock fan doesn't mean I can't discuss the game. If you recall I was the one who started the Congrats 300 club thread to him and Haywood. It is cheap shot to say I am backlashing because Rock got beat twice because we could play this game all night, it was Bell's first playoff win over Rock ever, enjoy it. The tides are forever changing.

I even tried to calm some of the city mice because of the field conditions, the field is not in bad shape, it has beautiful dried up bermuda which is typical of a playoff field this time of year. If Catholic doesn't like it then they should donate some $$$ to the fund for turf at Bell County. It has always killed me that when the distant region opponents come to our region and complain about the field. It is called homefield for a reason. Heck the year Rock had to play at Catholic (2005) I should've been complaining that the turf was too quick and allowed for them to out speed the Rock.

The last thing you need to read on this post is me reiterating myself by saying I never said anything negative and posted only quotes, if you or any other Bobcat fan feels different then talk to him about his quotes. We at Rock appreciate you backing up any false comment made by Larkey, because that was already settled on here and was quoted word for word from WYMT and no one seemed to think it was that bad, when things go to print from TV it seems different than what it was meant.

Well I really wasn't trying to single you out. You are almost always fair in what you say and I may have taken it the wrong way, but I was mainly aiming it towards a couple other Rock fans. All and all I believe both programs respect each other and the fans do too. No hard feelings.

I took it as a cheap shot when you said that you were being spit on and that people were constantly being spit on since 1980. I have never heard anything like that before. Not saying it did not happen, just saying that it isn't something Bell County is notoriously known for. Just a stupid act by a kid probably. And you commented on the trash talking. I can promise you it is not one-sided if that is the case. And that is simply the way I took it.

LexCath wore all black last Friday. Pretty cool

No need to PM, it was discussed in this forum earlier. The link to the thread is included along with exact quotes that were inputed as you scroll down.

2001 Won twice

2002 Won twice

2005 Won

2006 Won Twice

Rock won twice in 2002????

Won, that to me is a past tense word. I would rather talk about LC vs. Bell County this friday night. Where a "WIN" is up from grabs. "WIN" meaning upcoming possibility in the regional championship game.

I consider this game the 4A state championship game.

BTW, Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Talked to a parent last night that attended practice. He said they covered the field before the heavy rains started. So footing will not be an excuse!
