I think Dave Brumley would be a good choice I know him and seen him coach and I think he would be a great Head Coach.

I can't follow Slapfest's thoughts. In an earlier post you discuss the 10 and 9 wins Carter had (and being cheated by Phillip Haywood, no less) and now you discuss hiring Brumley, an assistant during this "great team to bad team" era.

 

Are you saying neither Carter nor Brumley are part of Southern's problems? If they weren't part of the problem, then how did discipline problems exist.

 

Sounds like Southern might need an overhaul and go outside the system.

Bill Belicheck would have went 1-9 with this Southern team...if you can follow that thought! NO...Carter nor Brumley was the problem...both are established coaches and I have seen the coaching both gentleman do, it is top notch. You can not turn chicken crap into chicken salad, no matter how good of a chef you are!

So, the players (15-18 year olds) on this team, simply would not be led by a great leader. I think we are all getting a better understanding of the real problem at Southern.

I would not see why Coach Brumley would want the job, He should know first hand about the "chicken crap". It is easy to blame the kids.

I'm sure the kids who play at Madison Southern are just overwhelmed with pride at the outpouring of support.

What an insult you made to high school kids and maybe you don't know everything about the situation. Obviously you don't know about the talented kids on the team who were working hard and going out not giving up and expecting to win every Friday night or maybe you were just listening about the ones who weren't doing what they should have been. But that was not across the board for the whole team and none of them should be called "chicken crap"! I hope you aren't an adult associated with Southern! And the seniors on that team this year had played together since 8th grade and were 9 and 1 their 8th grade year. I just hope that none of the players are reading your posts because many are feeling bad enough about their year!..........Also, Carter has recommended Brumley for the job and Brumley must have applied, so they must think they still have talent there to work with !~

When you have a program like this I fill that you have to hire someone that will come in and be a dictator not a negotiator. Thats how these two men above run there programs. They are the captain, if you dont like the direction the ship is going they gladly show you the door. They do not compromise the character or credibility of the program for no bad eggs.

Actually applications will not be accepted after Feb. 1. Everyone needs to quit arguing, the Madison Southern job is an attractive job, there are good kids there, they have a good administration, and it is one of the top paying jobs in the state. Madison Co. head coaches are taken care of. Good things are in Madison Southern's future...this I am positive about.
