Actually the jinx would be over with. Because remember I picked Bellevue to actually win this game. It had been the team I picked to win, had been losing. But you all actually won like I thought you all would...:thumb:

Great game for both the Tigers and Greendevils. Either team could have won and walked away feeling lucky. I agree the officiating was very spotty, but for both teams. Bellevue played better this time around by taking care of the ball.

 

Dayton, you had a great season, had many big wins against 6A schools. Feel proud of you accomplishments.

 

Bellevue, way to go out and not give up late in the fourth quarter, as other teams would have. You showed a never say die effort.

Dayton looked good, they have some size and athletes. Question for you O-Line (and any other Devils) what does Dayton have to do to beat Beechwood in the rematch?

 

I think you meant to say IF there is a rematch between Dayton and Beechwood. Because Dayton still will have to beat Bellevue again to see Beechwood again. And well I am not a Bellevue fan at all, but I expect the game in the playoffs to be alot closer than this score...

Joe Wynn played one heck of a game last night. After having a bad shoulder and wearning a harness for the game, he took some shot. One of which he was absolutely "jacked-up" and his helmet went flying. He jumped back up and two plays later ran in their second touchdown. Very tough kid, and a very tough performance.

Congrats to Coach E and the Tigers! Good luck next week against the Beechwood.

Dont know what happened the last two weeks, but they seemed to have lost the heart that they played with all year, need to look at the coach for that, did not sound like he had his team ready. They never lost heart, that's for sure! This was an exciting game that will be remembered for a long time. Congrats to Bellevue on their win. Congrats to Dayton on an envigorating season. But the game is the only thing the devils lost. Since you were not there, you couldn't see the emotion on these boys faces throughout the game. They never lost heart!

I will say the Dayton players have the respect from the Tigers. It is hard to go out like you did, but Dayton was very classy after the game. Everyone in green said good game and to beat Beachwood. This shows how much these two communities respect each other. I am sure that Bellevue would have done the same had Dayton won. Great season for you Devils, and keep it up Bellevue.

Some interesting calls made last night. Bellevue's up 12 at the half, to start the half they ran, threw, threw and punted. Dayton then got the ball and went 3 and out (or close to it) and Bellevue decided, again to throw the ball a couple of times. At this point, there were three possessions in the 3rd quarter and 7:41 left. Not managing the clock when up 12...

 

Then, at the end of the 3rd quarter Bellevue decided to run a play when the official started the play clock with :24 left. Now, not only did they run a play, they ran a pass play on 2nd down. Of course, the pass was incomplete. So it was 3rd down with :01 left in the third quarter. They ran the ball and didn't get the first down. Now, instead of the start of the 4th quarter as 2nd and 8, it was 4th and 5 with Bellevue punting.

 

In hindsight, this actually worked in Bellevue's favor because if he runs the clock down they get the ball back with only around 1:30 rather than the 3:00+ minutes they had. However, there's ZERO way to forecast that situation...

 

Sorry, I'm usually not critical but if Bellevue expects to beat Beechwood...this stuff won't fly...

 

As for the personal fouls, I'll leave that lone...

I guess you have to practice and think like you'll beat them, but they better play 10 fold better than last night without the taunting and personal fouls, cause if they dont this week will be just a head start on spring practice!

First off, I know I talked some trash this week, but I want to congratulate both teams on a great game last night. This game will go down as one of the best Bellevue/Dayton games in the history of this rivalry.

 

As for walking through the pregame...if Davis field was such a terrible field and had an actual place for people to walk, then I am sure Bellevue would not have down that. As for the stomping of the "D", Bellevue came into this game to make a statement to Dayton and they did.

 

I know that Huninghake and Combs from Bellevue were laying the wood to Dayton's receivers last night.

 

This game came down to adjustments, Bellevue made adjustments from Game 1, while it did not seem like Dayton made any adjustments from Game 1 or during the course of this game. This is were coaching experience comes in handy.

If you are such an expert why don't you apply to coach at Bellevue. The team is 7-4 and no one outside Bellevue expected that this year.
