Pat Forde UK Loss to GW was more shocking then App St beating Mich

Featured Replies

This game wont matter if UK makes it to the Sweet 16

UK fans that wanted Tubby gone last spring unmistakenly said that Sweet 16 appearances are not enough for them.

UConn was horrible last year. They barely made the BE tournament and had no post season.

The results of recruiting all the top level players, making a Final 4 and then being horrible for a season or two when the players all jettison to the NBA. BTW, the exact recruiting that some UK fans wanted Tubby and now want Billy G. to do.

Just for fun, what can you tell me about the D1 history of a good number of A-Sun teams? Lipscomb? USC Upstate? North Florida? Kennesaw State???

Sorry, I guess not being a professional BGP'r...I don't understand what this has to do with any of the above. My point was big win for GW, could make a difference if the outcome of their season. This loss can have very little outcome on UK's season. How deep is that?????????

Pretty shallow actually. G-W will finish in the bottom half of a league chock full of D2 transplants making the step up. The A-Sun has zero chance of 2 bids, so that's a moot point. On the flip side there is a very real chance this UK squad will be a bubble team with a loss to said below average A-Sun team at home by 16 on the resume. As for the personal attack YOU are the one that questioned my basketball knowledge. Good day...

Quote: Gardner Webb as a bubble team? Two bids for the D2 foster home? It's getting deep in here...

Really!?!

Facts are facts. You clearly knew little about the A Sun. I simply helped expand your knowledge base...

More A Sun fun facts. Gardner-Webb thinks so much of the conference that this will be their last season before leaving for the Big South Conference...

Its November 8th people. OK look at Michigan who might be in a big time bowl game.

:thumb: I think that is a point that is being forgotten here. I can imagine it now on UK's resume...

Bad losses- Gardner Webb (@ home, 16 pt loss)

Yeah...UCONN doesnt look to be that great as they just got by Morgan State.

If I was BCG I would have practiced after the game last night. These players need to buy into his system!

You keep saying they need to buy into his system, but what makes you think they haven't bought into it. I mean it sure looks like they have bought into it, it just is not working that great right now. I don't think it has anything to do with them not buying into his system...

Not likely, but if GW does very well, if not wins this tourney, runs their league and loses in their conference tourney, then you can tell me with 100% certainty that they will NOT have ANY chance of getting a NCAA bid? That is the point. The win was big for them.

The A Sun isn't getting two bids in any scenario you can dream up. But cling to that if it makes you sleep better at night...

GW lost to Mount Vernon (Ohio) in the Christian schools National Championship just 3 years ago. The most embarrassing loss in UK's history IMO.

But... it's just the same as losing to WKU, right?

:laugh: You and I both know better than that. The UK team I have watched so far this season is a very bad team. I like Mark Coury, and love his effort, but in years past he would have been the Chris Gettlefinger, the Steve Massiollemo (sp?), the guy who gets in the game the last two minutes of a blow out. It's going to take 2-3 good recruiting classes by Billy G. to get the UK program back to respectability IMO.
