Is it really? GW is at least in the same division and everyone who isn't kidding themselves knew that UK had no shot at a national title, while Michigan was being touted as serious contenders. UK's 22 ranking was based purely on their name.

 

Really it doesn't matter. They were both shocking and awful watches.

If this is actually what Skip said, it will be the first thing to come out of his mouth that I agree with.

Althought few expected this, I don't see it as being as big as the Mich. loss.

Not as important because the lost to App State removed Michigan's hopes for any national title.

 

KY could still, technically, win the national title.

I have not listened to it yet, but if that is what he said, that is a pretty dumb statement, imo. I can name probably 20 upsets off the top of my head in the last 10 years just as equal to or worse than UK's loss.

 

First off all, the chances of upsets happening in college basketball are about 50 x as great than in college football because size, speed, and numbers mean a lot more than they do in basketball.

 

3rd, some people act like this UK team is preseason Final 4 material (granted, they should not have lost). They are not even close to having that type of talent; Michigan has the talent and athletes to legitimately have BCS aspirations.

True. I think one can even argue that with a good regular season from here on out, the game essentially means little. An upset early in the year in college basketball, not a realy noteworthy story any longer.

A loss is still a loss, even worse it was to the Spider Webb. However, with earlier start times of the season, it may be a blessing in disguise for this team not to go up to MSG and be backhanded by better teams, but stay at home and work on the basics.
