He has been a great back for the Bengals and has been a very consistent back. Look back at all your fantasy drafts the past 3-5 years he was always top 10. He has a bad hamstring and the team is not playing well. At least call him out when he's healthy.

Is he on the back half of his career yes. You should know RB's have the shortest lifespan in the NFL. I just don't think its right to call a guy out who has done so much for the team. But I wasn't one of the ones booing Corey either when he left.

Rudi is done....He tip toes through the hole like a little girl afraid of getting hit. It used to take two or three guys to bring him down now he gets touched and he's on the ground. I don't know if losing the weight in the off season has had anything to do with it or not. IMO he is done........

I don't believe Rudi is done. I also think that he was the product of the O and the passing game, not vice versa. I think his best chance to flourish is to become part of a 2 back attack/alternating series that you see many teams going to these days. If that's in Cincy, who knows.

I never thought he was much either...

I know I'm regretting drafting him. He reminds me of Eddie George, only way softer and more injury-prone. I doubt we'll ever see him be an effective feature back in the NFL again.

 

I think the comparison is valid in the sense that they have some similarities in their style...

 

They're both more like battering rams. Neither were game breaking, highlight reel backs...they were big, physical backs who could carry the ball 30 times a game, move the chains and chew up the clock, and punish defenses because they're physical runners.

 

The difference, and what separates the two...making George an elite back in his prime, and Rudi not is this: The Titan offense was built around Eddie George. The Bengal offense is built around Carson, Chad and TJ. That means Rudi benefits from defenses being forced to key on the passing game, which opens up the run. When the Titans played, defenses keyed on stopping George...the Titan passing game (when George was in his prime) was nowhere near as prolific and explosive as what Cincy currently has. IMO, that separates George from Rudi.

It's just like Rudi replacing Dillon, and now Watson will replace Rudi. It's not that hard to be good when Carson Palmer is the QB, and you can run and/or catch the football and play running back.

 

Corey Dillon was a stud in his prime, IMO...far better than Rudi ever was. Dillon was big, strong and had breakaway speed at one time. Rudi rarely breaks a 10 yard run...

 

I always thought Dillon was one of the most underrated RB's in the NFL because he was stuck on the pathetic Bengals...despite being the only dependable player and real threat they had, he still put up some pretty good numbers...especially when you consider his supporting cast, and the fact that opponents were keying on him because there was rarely anyone else to scare them.

Rudi hasn't had a carry over 35 yards in 43 games...darned near 3 seasons.

Bengals Oline hasnt been up to par also... another reason why Rudi isnt breaking 20+ runs.
