November 9, 200718 yr LT is averaging 4.2 this year.. Rudi finished with 3.8 last year. Not as big of a stat as you are blowing it up to be. He is the least of our concerns. You might wanna take a look at the D if you wanna point fingers. He also wouldnt be so beat up if he didnt carry so much of a load over the past 3 years, but nobody comments on that. I'd say opposing defenses would be keying on LT a little more than they would Rudi. Bengals don't see 8 or 9 in the box, like they did when Dillon was in his prime as a Bengal. Wonder why the Bengals keep selecting RBs with top picks? Hmmm.

November 9, 200718 yr The big issue with Rudi relates to value. Is he worth the $5M or so cap number on a team that needs help on the defense?
November 9, 200718 yr I say they trade him for a draft pick or two.... What could they get for him? A 5th or 6th round pick...maybe. He has little to no trade value, IMO...a back who has carried a huge load for three seasons and now has been injured this year with no breakaway speed...I just can't see them getting anything. Although, to be honest, I'd trade him for any draft pick at this point just to free up the cap room...getting any kind of pick in return would just be a bonus.
November 9, 200718 yr Great is an overused word. NFL history, not a great back. Bengals history, great back. For the word great, the only ones that are presently playing that I think that word is applicable is LT with a maybe to Jamaal Lewis (not on present but on past). Several that are good and some that are good with potential to be great. Now looking at the Bengals, alone, history, he is one of the greatest backs in their history. Production shows that.
November 9, 200718 yr How many years did Dillon have left on his contract when he was replaced by Rudi? And how many years left does Rudi have left now? The Bengals may need to review their ideas on the longevity of an NFL running back.
November 10, 200718 yr I've never thought of him as a great back but over the course of his career he's been solid. Three seasons over 1300 is a great accomplishment, 1,000 carries in 3 seasons can also be considered being a workhorse. His yards per carry was over 4/carry for 3 seasons but he hasn't been as good since the line started having some health problems last season. I can't say I disagree w/ him dancing into the hole but it seems like the Oline has been merely average since Braham went down early in '06.
