I don't know how to read this score honestly, what I believe though is LCA will recover and Hazard still has a rough road to get to a rematch with LCA. Hazard will have to most likely beat a good Cumberland team again then beat Campbellsville, Lynn Camp, or Williamsburg to get to the state semis. So still to early to tell who will come out of the eastern side of the bracket. Although I will say this is an impressive win.

Lets be mindful of the rules. Some of the posts in this thread are getting close to the edge.

I dont know how good Beechwood is having not seen them, but I do believe Hazard is a very good football team with some quality skilled people especially the QB. Beechwood, however is usually a different kind of an animal than you normally run into in 1A and would probably take a monumental effort to beat. If Hazard gets that far they have the kind of talent that could possibly beat a program like Beechwood.

I thinkHazard just made Uncle Jesse and them there Duke Boys very happy.

I expected a much closer game. This is a good win for Hazard. Playoff weather is setting in and Beechwood seems to thrive on those conditions. They will be hard to beat.

I'm gonna eat some crow on here. Before Hazard and Cumberland played I made a call to 101.1 and predicted Hazard might over look Cumberland. I reminded Dave Hammonds of how Hazard overlooked Harlan last year and got drilled. I should have kept my big mouth shut, because obviously I Word Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter Violationed the bulldogs off.

 

Let me tell ya this, the first thing I noticed was thier size vs. their speed when I watched them. Cumberland had speed but the difference in that game was the size in the skilled position.....and oh yeah Olinger.

 

Lynn Camp played Hazard tough, but I'll tell ya this. Lynn Camp should not have beaten Cumberland, and Hazard is MUCH better than both. Beechwood or someone in the final 4 might get em' (and I've not seem Beechwood or any of the rest from other regions) but this is a very good Hazard team dating back to their win over P'ville last year.:ylsuper:

Sorry that I didn't get to this sooner. I was listening to the game, but got called away before halftime. I have not heard any reports on how the game went down after that.

Does any one know what the half time score was? Or any stats on who did well for Hazard...

Score was 28-7 at the half and 41-14 early 4th qrt.

 

Olinger threw for over 300 yds and 3 td and 1 rushing. Adams ran for 220 yards.

Im not from Hazard but they are an outstanding football team. I dont think they were getting a lot of respect from the north but they made a statement with the LCA win. They may still be proven to be a pretender but it will surprise me. Good luck to Coach Dixon and the Dawgs....I bet cousin Mo is awfully proud of you!!

Coach Dixon will get his boys ready. As for Cousin Mo, you can bet he is proud. Word is his team is pretty good in Georgia. Bunch of coaches in that family.

IMO Hazard has to be the favorite for the East with LCA/Pikeville they are pretty close to each other at #2.
