New Harlan County High School Coach
As much as I hate what he and the Jumpers did to my Dragons last year, I would love to see him come and bring my boy Jeff Perkins with him. Me and Perk go way back...lol

New Harlan County High School Coach
John Reynolds has done a good job a Cumberland, a 1A School. I would think we would be looking to bring in a TOP name.

Letcher Co. Central at Highlands (5A)
I'll tell ya this..I read earlier in this post if PCC and Hazard combined....well you would have LCC. They would be much, much better than that. Keep looking down your nose at East KY. Ask Beechwood about that in the early to mid 80's. Little school called Cumberland showed the elite that it gets old after a while. It's starting to get old again. In 2008 Harlan County HS gets started with the offspring of the Cawoods, Cumberlands, & Evarts from back in that day. You yankees may still win but I bet you will be much more sore when you play us than after you play the speed of up NORTH. Make no mistake about it, we will see each other down the road. Till then keep lookin down!

Belfry @ Somerset (3A)
If Belfry can double Cole and contain the rest there is no way Somerset can win, however, If Cole gets rolling and they can get him the ball deep a time or two or he breaks a screen or two this will loosen up the big red D and give Hughes an opportunity to get it in chunks. If so this could be one of the best games Friday. I know this will shock you Jumpers, but personally I'd like to see ya knock em off.

Bet you guys are glad it's Letcher Central coming and not Log Mountain:D

Hazard 41 LCA 21
I'm gonna eat some crow on here. Before Hazard and Cumberland played I made a call to 101.1 and predicted Hazard might over look Cumberland. I reminded Dave Hammonds of how Hazard overlooked Harlan last year and got drilled. I should have kept my big mouth shut, because obviously I Word Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter Violationed the bulldogs off. Let me tell ya this, the first thing I noticed was thier size vs. their speed when I watched them. Cumberland had speed but the difference in that game was the size in the skilled position.....and oh yeah Olinger. Lynn Camp played Hazard tough, but I'll tell ya this. Lynn Camp should not have beaten Cumberland, and Hazard is MUCH better than both. Beechwood or someone in the final 4 might get em' (and I've not seem Beechwood or any of the rest from other regions) but this is a very good Hazard team dating back to their win over P'ville last year.:ylsuper:

Belfry 28 Johnson Central 12
Don't get too happy girl. You still have Breathitt in your path! But after that win your Pirates are No. 1 in the mountains until someone beats them. This team reminds me a little of the 04 teams. Good job Coach Haywood & Pirates :ylsuper:

Cumberland 51 Pike Central 31
Good win for the skins! What is The status on Clark? He seems to add another dimension/threat. They got lost vs. Hazard after he went down.

Williamsburg vs. Cumberland predictions
I saw Williamsburg struggle against Harlan in the Grid, they pulled it out but struggled, Harlan is not going to beat anyone this year. If you think Harlan is better than Cumberland you have a big suprise coming. The score might be 42-14, but it will not be Williamsburg on top unless the skins get a dose of that Jacket Home Cookin they are so famous for.

Football Coaches That Care
This is kinda cool deal for me because I was a prodical kid who knew everything about everything....I thought..lol. Coach Jody Gluck and Coach John Brewer at Cumberland Elementary taught fundamentals like no one could ever believe. In '74-75 they teamed up and the end result of those fundamentals was a State Runner up team in '82 in a little town called Cumberland. Oh yeah in '83 they were State Runner Up again. Did I mention they were also state runner up in 86. Guys like this are hard to find. In high school years Coach Tim Saylor took the building blocks these guys started, made us believe in our ability, introduced one of the first prostyle offenses, along with an incredible Larry Phillips defense and Cumberland was suddenly on the map. Just ask Beechwood! In 86 Ron Cain and crew got It done. But one of the best inspirations of life came from a fellow from Wayne Co. named Danny Upchurch. He taught me that I could overcome being the prodical one on my terms, not only in football but in life. What a lesson!

What Is Your Opinion Of The KHSAA?
My, what a can of worms I've opened up...WITH GOOD INTENT! HoYoDad..first of all I was at the Bell Co. game. Highlands had 92 total yards total offense. PERIOD. The game was won for Highlands on a 62 yard fumble return for a touchdown early in the game by the player of discussion. Robbins for Bell had 160+ total offense himself, so to say Highlands would have won anyway? I think not! Bell was a far superior team without the one we are speaking. Also, if your going to post on BGP get your facts straight. Harlan is Single A and is not in either Bell or Highlands class (And I'm not talking about enrollment), so my post had nothing to to with comparisom of Highlands & Harlan. My point is that one individual (Hunter Luttrell) as well as one team (Bell County) was served a horrible injustice while Highlands was rewarded a State Championship they clearly could not have won without the player in question. A broken home is far more ligitimate than simply having the MONEY to move for one's and one's own team benifit. Questions Anybody? PLEASE! Westside my case has been made. Henry 521 it prolly will not go away because the facts speak for themselves. Another case of Money vs. the rest! 94 Camper you are on the right track for the most part except in your statement that legitimate moves do net get penalized, Just research the Luttrell case. Finally, Highlands sanctions may have been fulfilled, but the punishment did not fit the crime. Over & Out!

What Is Your Opinion Of The KHSAA?
Honestly, with the record of the KSHAA I believe they should be the group disclosing answers. HDE, I agree with you to a point, howver this was a special case and you are as familiar with it as anyone. No advantage by team or individual was to be gained from a favorable ruling. This kid lost a year for no good reason other than one parent lived in one town and the other lived in Harlan. TERRIBLE! The KHSAA sits on their throne an serves out injustices like this, then when it comes time to make a BIG decision....like stripping Highlands of their title in 2004 like they should have done....they do nothing. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!
