Hazard 33 Cumberland 27 (1A)

Featured Replies

The Skins put up a great fight in the game and had the oppurtunity to win. This was the final game for Cumberland as they will be consolidating next year. Hazard made enough plays to win and deserves to move on to next week.

R.I.P Skins

Way to fight it out, Redskins. You can exit with your heads up after leaving everything on the field. You were always a great opponent. Thanks for all the memories!!!

Side note: Unless something drastic happens, looks like Hazard will be facing Williamsburg next week. 14 -0 game in the 4th and both teams are driving, getting nowhere and shooting themselves in the foot when they do move it.

Skins will never be forgotten!

Hate to see Cumberland come to and end. For Hazard be prepared, Campbellsville doesn't do a lot of fancy things but if you make mistakes they will make you pay for them.

WOW, what a great game!!!! Cumberland, IMO played their most impressive game of the year, going toe to toe with the #1 ranked team in the state and really had a great chance to win. They were focused on the task at hand, fought and battled and showed a lot of heart for 4 quarters. As a Tri-City and Harlan County resident I couldnt be more proud of an athletic team than I was last night.

Dawgs almost choke!!! Skins came ready to play and played a great game. #42 had a great catch and run, and had two long runs. #24 with a nice koff return for td.

Hazard played sloppy, olinger made some good runs but passing game seemed to be a little off. Adams played really well. the defense played good when they had to.

The skins probably deserved to win, they played with alot of emotion and pride. I love the dawgs but they need to come with more emotion and be more focused.

I was very proud of the last Harlan County team in the playoffs. I didnt see the game but Cland had to have played well. Good job Skins! I have to admit, I thought this game would be a blowout because, having seen Hazard twice, the Dogs are a really solid team....they have great skill people, a more than adaquate QB, huge fronts offensively and defensively, and they have a receiver that can take it to the house every time he touches the ball. I was also impressed with their solid tackling and Coach Dixon ran a very organized sideline. Their only real weakness is depth which has historically been a problem but, regardless, they are very good. Congrats to them and a big congrats to Coach Reynolds and his Cland team....they represented the county well!!

It is sad to see Cumberland play their last game, but what a great season they had. From the game I saw them play in they have a good group of athletes. I am not sure how many graduate and how many move on but the Harlan County Black Bears may be fun to watch after consolidating three frine teams.

Great Effort Guys! Seniors will be missed. For the rest, Cant wait to see you guys next years as Black Bears. Get in the weight room and lets show the rest of the state what harlan County is capable of.
