I think LCA was just exposed as a pretender in 1A.

LCA will win their district.

They are not state contenders, yet.

In high school football, travel distance often plays a factor in the outcome of a game. Should Hazard and LCA take care of business in the first three rounds of the playoffs, Hazard would have to deal with the travel in the rematch.

I ahve seen hazard and Pikeville in person this season (Hazard was a scrimmage mind you, Pikeville I saw three times in person). I ahev also seen Pikeville two more times on TV and Hazard twice on TV. These two teams have now established themselves as the favorite to make it to the Carpet from the East, both teams ahve the same exact weakness.

 

Hazard and Pikeville both have a lot of very, very talented athletes for 1A teams, both have that dominating playmaker (Olinger-Hazard, Harmon-Pikeville), but both teams are nowhere near as solid on the line as Beechwood and neither have the run defense to stop the Tigers (or possibly each other).

Very good point home field is huge, with the home team having a big advantage in games where talent levels are fairly close.

Ol' Cuz is very proud of him! He and his staff are putting together a heck of a run over the past five years...sounds like his players are playing "lights out"...
