National High School record is 77 held by Thomas Thrash of Little Rock Pulaski Academy, AR 2001. Corey now stands 3rd at 67. Tim Couch 75.1 Pct is the best all time nationally. Corey is 26 Tds behind Tim's career mark of 133. If Lone Oak goes deep into the playoff picture that mark is within reach.

Next up, Lone Oak will play Muhlenburg North, a team they beat 57-8 earlier in the year. After that, they would face the winner of the Calloway County vs. Hopkins County Central game. Lone Oak has beaten both of these teams already.

 

Corey Robinson is going to break the national touchdown in a season mark of 77 with ease. There is no asterisk on national high school records as to the caliber of competition.

 

Think about this, if Lone Oak can win three games in the playoffs and Corey continue at his current touchdown passes/game clip, he will surpass 100 touchdown passes this season.

Actually, at 6.7 TD passes per game, Lone Oak would need to get to the state finals for him to top 100.

If Lone Oak wins versus both their district opponents, then defeats their opponent in the quarterfinals, that would mean they are 3-0 and playing their 4th playoff game. If they won that game, they would be in the finals. If they lost, they go home, but would have played 4 post-season games.

 

Hypothetically: 6.7 touchdown passes per game times 4 games equals 26.8 additional touchdown passes plus 77 current touchdown passes equals 103.8 touchdown passes.

Robinson has 67 TD passes in 10 games ... not 77.

 

If Lone Oak keeps advancing, my guess is they meet Calloway County, Bullitt East and Warren East ... all at home.
