I wasn't the one comparing scores ...

 

My belief is based on what I've seen. I have seen Mayfield at their best (the Graves County and Caldwell County games) and I've seen Lone Oak in their toughest game. I feel that Lone Oak is the better team.

 

I would say that the Graves game was Mayfield's best game where they completely shut down graves and allowed 0 points to be scored and never allowed Graves within 30 yards of the end zone. If that team played Lone Oak, coupled with the pass defense I saw in the caldwell game, then I would pick Mayfield, but its all our opinion, we won't ever know.

Assuming they get past Calloway again.....they would face either Marion Co., Bullitt East, or North Bullitt.....All three are solid.......Marion Co. and Bullitt East are the favorites with NBullitt right behind them. If they even make it past these teams, then they would potentially face Warren East, Valley, or Fairdale..........who knows, we will see.

 

As a Bullitt East parent I hope to get a chance to see the kid in person in round 3. While I don't want to see it happen at our expense .. how much fun would a Lone Oak - Fairdale game be .. you could see 1200 yards total passing.

The problems with that reasoning ... neither Caldwell nor Graves can throw the ball as effectively as Lone Oak does, particularly down the field, and to as many capable receivers. Lone Oak would test Mayfield's secondary much more than that, as much as or more so than Calloway did.

Yeah, and for that I would give the edge to Lone Oak in the game, but like I said, if Mayfield had an effective run game against Lone Oak, I think the game would come down to the wire. The only two passing teams that Mayfield has played is Calloway and Caldwell, and Mayfield played two very different games there. Have any teams been very successful at getting to Robinson? I am not saying Mayfield would dominate Lone Oak by no means, I think it would take some very good coaching along with the best showing of Mayfield's defense all year to pull it off, but if we could get to Robinson and force him to make some bad decisions, it could play a big factor.

According to the Jackson (TN) Sun, Robinson has been offered by Murray State, Gardner-Webb and Eastern Kentucky. Tennessee-Martin recently called him and Robinson has plans to visit Western Kentucky this weekend. Robinson played in Jackson his freshman year before transferring.
