Since O$U has an 0-8 record against SEC teams in bowl games I'm not sure what they expect. Respect should be earned and if you've never beaten the other league.......

Playoffs? Playoffs? What are you talking about Playoffs?

I'm as big SEC guy, but I find Finebaum to be sensationalistic. If you think he rubs the Big 10 the wrong way, you should ask how Auburn fans how they feel about him.

OSU is a darn good team but unless they beat an SEC team this year they are not the best team in the nation. I think us at UK would beat OSU by 2 scores.

Interesting you would point that out. One can always spin something to favor the team of their choice. Here is the other side....

What I found (and I'm not suggesting I moved heaven and earth here; I'm sure I'm not the first to reveal these numbers) is that the Big Ten, a conference that takes a lot of shots for being overrated, has more than held its own against the SEC on the field, which is where all fans believe these arguments should be settled, right?

Over the past five seasons, the Big Ten is 8-6 against the SEC in bowl games. Even last season, when Florida made a joke of Ohio State in the BCS title game, the Big Ten had a 2-1 head-to-head record, getting wins from Wisconsin (over Arkansas) and Penn State (over Tennessee).

But this isn't about the SEC vs. Big Ten, it's about the fact that tO$U has not shown they're capable of beating an SEC team in bowl games.

But this isn't about the SEC vs. Big Ten

That's strange. I could swear the words SEC and Big Ten are in the thread title...

Finebaum is an equal opportunity offender. There are plenty of Tide fans who can't stand him.

I don't think history (except maybe last year) has much to do with it. The Big10 is usually a great conference. THIS YEAR they're not.

So Oregon has to beat an SEC team to prove they are one of the best teams in the country?? Do teams like Oklahoma,USC, Michigan, Missouri, Hawaii, Arizona State, and West Virginia have to prove that to?? Well wait, West Virginia already did that by beating Miss. State 38-13?? And oh yeah Cal did that to by beating Tennessee 45-31. What about Florida State beating Alabama? Or USF beating Auburn?? The best teams in the country do not have to beat SEC teams to prove they are the best in the land.

As for the UK statement, I don't think THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY would have lost to Miss. State 31-14, do you?? Kentucky would be lucky to get 2 scores in the entire game.

I don't think that Mississippi State would win any kind of a series against O$U. However, I wouldn't say that they COULDN'T beat them. After all, who expected Appy State to take down Michigan in the Big House. And where is the team that lost to the 1AA team (or whatever they're considered now)? Sitting tied for first place in the Big 10. If a tiny school like that can beat the Big 10 co-leader then a team like MSU can beat O$U. As for the 2 score thing O$U has a very good defense but it is not the second coming of the Steel Curtain. If Michigan State, Wisconsin and Penn State could put up 17 a HEALTHY UK offense would put up at least 21.
