What are the current numbers at Conner? Seems like losing that many may land them in AAAA.

From what I hear Randall Cooper HS is suppose to hold about 1200-1300 students when complete and at current population expansion rates in the it county should be full in a couple years after opening. They will host all sports and probably farther diluate the sports talent pool of the existing 3 schools Boone,Ryle,Conner .I understand when open in 2008 seniors who are suppose to go there may choose to graduate from their current school, other juniors Etc will have to transfer.

I have heard that the coach will be Ryle's assistant head coach. Does anyone know what the school colors or the mascot will be?

Will these kids have to sit if there is not a change of address? Is there some type of special rule when a new school is opened?

There does not have to be a change of address. If the student lives within the school boundries set by the Board of Education, then they must attend that school. No coaches have been hired yet to my knowledge so to say someone is already to be coach is speculation.

What is the Principal's experience with sports?

 

I have heard that he's not a 'sports guy' from a few different people. Not sure what in his past what make anyone think that but it seems to be pretty well known in coaching circles...

I doubt it. an estimate of 500-600 students leaving Conner, that should bumb them from 6A

Without a doubt, the answer is yes. This school will compete in all the same V sports the the other three BC schools currently compete in.

Oldrambler you are correct in that the school was named after a very classy and great man. Sandman 32 you are correct in that Cooper High School will participate in all sports. I wish them well and best of luck in the comming years. JD

My guess is, within 2-3 years, they will have a very strong program.
