October 26, 200718 yr My daughter has had a couple of cats but they don't seem to last very long. We tried them in the house (I just don't like the smell) and in a detached garage/shop (they feel like a prisoner and dart out when any door is opened. If they are left outside, they are ultimately coyote food. Her birthday is coming up on the 14th of November and she left me this note under my pillow last night: Daddy, I know that I can be a better kitty mommy now and I would really like to have a cat for my birthday or Christmas. I don't like it when my brothers tease me about the other cats being on vacation (really dead). I would rather have a cat than evan a video iPod because you can't love an iPod or cuddle with it. But if I can't get a cat I would still want a video iPod. Please. She is in that stage where she loves to write notes. I found this extremely cute but I still had to tell her "no cats". I guess there is an iPod in her future because even though you can't love them or cuddle with them, iPods don't give you an aloof attitude and piles of cat crap.
October 26, 200718 yr You should get her one of these. They actually breath. http://www.latestbuy.com.au/fur_real_pet_cats.html
October 26, 200718 yr That's awesome... Kids say some of the funniest things. My 3 year old cousin tells everyone she sees, they smell like a skunk (saw it on Curious George). It is so funny my poor aunt is like "Lily don't say that", she is so sweet yet so spoiled.
October 26, 200718 yr I love the way she doesn't burn her bridges. Did you consider the possibility that you might have just been played?
October 26, 200718 yr I vote for IPod! I'd say that cats make great targets, but that just wouldn't go over very well!

October 27, 200718 yr Author HHSDad, those are out of stock or I would probably order one. Birdsfan, I also liked how she kept her options open with the iPod. All, I told her again tonight that we are not getting a cat but I guarantee you that if we are in a situation where a cat can be brought home and she is holding it and asks me for it, then we will have a cat. I have to avoid that situation.
