October 24, 200718 yr 1-2 to either FL or LSU. But LSU is really cooling off... FL looks good and they should. The best part about you guys is you have zero, ZILCH, reason to hate on OSU, not one. We have done nothing to embarress your team. You guys simply hate the fact we have earned the right to be #1 (which nobody cares about, we have been there before) as of right now and you haven't. You HAD your shot... you had it... you didn't capture it. I know man OSU fans who have enjoyed KY's success it's cool to see a little guy do well. Not anymore... but we aren't gonna be ridiculous and hope and pray that you lose. LSU is cooling off? They are just starting to get warm! :fire: I hope OSU gets a shot at them in the title...the same thing will happen as last year...as the SEC ROLLS! :dancingpa
October 24, 200718 yr LSU is cooling off? They are just starting to get warm! :fire: I hope OSU gets a shot at them in the title...the same thing will happen as last year...as the SEC ROLLS! :dancingpa Yeah the loss to UK and miracle win against Auburn isn't to convincing. Without that miracle TD pass last week.. this team is OUT of championship talk.
October 24, 200718 yr Yeah the loss to UK and miracle win against Auburn isn't to convincing. Without that miracle TD pass last week.. this team is OUT of championship talk. That what happens in the SEC on a weekly basis.
October 24, 200718 yr Yeah the loss to UK and miracle win against Auburn isn't to convincing. Without that miracle TD pass last week.. this team is OUT of championship talk. Yeah and if OSU had played better last year they would have been the Champs!
October 24, 200718 yr That what happens in the SEC on a weekly basis. Yeah I have heard all about it..... I loved the part about Vandy being a legit BCS team. The SEC chat is great for car rides home from work.
October 24, 200718 yr Of course it isn't. I really would love to know how it isn't. The #1 team in the country plays in it. Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan State, and Indiana. Are all those teams horrible or what?? Tell me which of those teams has beaten a ranked team outside the Big10.
October 24, 200718 yr Author Yeah the loss to UK and miracle win against Auburn isn't to convincing. Without that miracle TD pass last week.. this team is OUT of championship talk. Why is that? If they don't score the TD they still had time on the clock, and would of kicked a FG .
October 24, 200718 yr Tell me which of those teams has beaten a ranked team outside the Big10. Zero. But how many SEC teams beat ranked teams outside the SEC? LSU and Kentucky? Kentucky's was a win against a overrated U of L team and LSU beat V. Tech. If there are any more let me know.
October 25, 200718 yr Zero. But how many SEC teams beat ranked teams outside the SEC? LSU and Kentucky? Kentucky's was a win against a overrated U of L team and LSU beat V. Tech. If there are any more let me know. The SEC's problem is that 26% of the top 25 are in their conference.

If there are any more let me know. Here's the skinny. SEC folk, OSU is #1, and deserve to be #1 and if they go undefeated and win NC game they are national champs, no question. OSU folk, the SEC is far and away a better conference than the Big 10. OSU could very well play an SEC team in NC game, so it will be put up or shut up for the Bucks. As far as UK vs OSU it'd be a good game, but unless its at Commonwealth I'd lean towards the Bucks.

October 25, 200718 yr I have been following this thread since its inception and decided to throw in my $.02. Ohio St. started out 13th or so in the rankings which is probably where they should have been. I am not a big fan of pre-season polls because this does set up some teams better than others. With the way things have shaken out this season the Bucks have climbed to the top. Will they stay there, who knows? However, they have done everything they need to to be there. The Big Ten is not very good this year or last and I have to agree that only tOSU and UofM would have a chance to win the SEC. I agree that 4-5 teams could possibly win the Big Televen. UK vs. tOSU would be a great thing to watch. I am not going to make any predictions about that possible match-up. However as I posted in a different thread, this years Bucks are much faster and more experienced on defense. (We just don't really know, due to the lack of stiff competition) I was not a believer in last year's team and was not confident about the NC game. I didn't expect the blowout, and I don't see that happening again if the Bucks are fortunate enough again to make it to the title game. And for the record, I hate this years schedule for the Bucks. If Ill. was not playing so well it would be a real downer for season ticket holders. Not dissing anyone but 2 MAC schools and YSU at home, that is sad. And before anyone gives me crap about the MAC, I just want everyone to know that I love MAC football and I don't mind one MAC game a year, but two in the same season with a 1AA team is too much.
October 25, 200718 yr Why is that? If they don't score the TD they still had time on the clock, and would of kicked a FG . You are exactly correct, LSU would have won on a field goal
October 25, 200718 yr The key for OSU is that they have a great defense. Defense wins the big 1! Anybody remember back to 2002? I wouldn't exactly say that their offense was stellar...in fact it was so conservative and below average I wanted to scream and yet, somehow they managed to beat the unbeatable Miami Hurricanes for the National Championship. Now, on to this crazy Ohio State vs. UK thing going on here. I am mindboggled to say the least. UK has a good year in football and they are being talked about in the same breath as one of the winningest college football team in history. It will take a little more than an upset victory over LSU to earn UK the same reputation and mystique as an Ohio State. Ohio State's 'D' would put the clamps on Woodson and the rest of the Big Blue offensive machine. Would OSU be a middle of the pack team in the SEC? I doubt it. The Buckeyes would find a way to win....because of their defense. Defense wins championships......except for last year against Florida :( C'mon UK backers.....pat yourself on back for a great season so far.....but it might be a little premature to think you can run with one of the biggest dogs right now.

I don't think anyone is trying to compare UK's history to OSU's...just the 2007 teams. And from what I've seen, it would be a pretty even matchup. As for defense winning championships, I don't think last year was an exception...it was probably just hard for Buckeye fans to stomach the fact that the best defense resided in Gainesville.
