UK vs. Ohio St.

Featured Replies

As for defense winning championships, I don't think last year was an exception...it was probably just hard for Buckeye fans to stomach the fact that the best defense resided in Gainesville. :p

Duly noted....

C'mon UK backers.....pat yourself on back for a great season so far.....but it might be a little premature to think you can run with one of the biggest dogs right now.

UK would give tOSU all they want this year. Tradition doesn't win games.

Ask UT, Nebraska, FSU and Miami how their tradition is working out this year.

Is LSU a big dog right now?

Is LSU a big dog right now?

Yea..because they'll be number 1 after this weekend :thumb:

So UK beat LSU... but it's premature to think they could play with OSU?

Depends on what UK team shows up. The one that beat LSU or the one that showed up @ the South Carolina game.

I'll say the team that has shown up in 7 games and not the team thats shown up in 1.

Here's the skinny. SEC folk, OSU is #1, and deserve to be #1 and if they go undefeated and win NC game they are national champs, no question.

OSU folk, the SEC is far and away a better conference than the Big 10. OSU could very well play an SEC team in NC game, so it will be put up or shut up for the Bucks.

As far as UK vs OSU it'd be a good game, but unless its at Commonwealth I'd lean towards the Bucks.

:thumb::thumb: This pretty much is the way I feel as well. Imo there is NO WAY that U.K. would run up 41pts. on Ohio State (as I beleive was suggested earlier). I love U.K. as well as Ohio State but I personally would pick the Buckeyes to win a game between the two. Two of my favorite teams, would enjoy just sitting back and watching it.

Having made the statements in my post above I have looked over both schedules again and I have yet to see where or when that these two teams play........... :D, so what's the point??

I'll pick up a discussion on this one IF they ever play. :thumb:

The key for OSU is that they have a great defense. Defense wins the big 1! Anybody remember back to 2002? I wouldn't exactly say that their offense was stellar...in fact it was so conservative and below average I wanted to scream and yet, somehow they managed to beat the unbeatable Miami Hurricanes for the National Championship.

Now, on to this crazy Ohio State vs. UK thing going on here. I am mindboggled to say the least. UK has a good year in football and they are being talked about in the same breath as one of the winningest college football team in history. It will take a little more than an upset victory over LSU to earn UK the same reputation and mystique as an Ohio State. Ohio State's 'D' would put the clamps on Woodson and the rest of the Big Blue offensive machine.

Would OSU be a middle of the pack team in the SEC? I doubt it. The Buckeyes would find a way to win....because of their defense. Defense wins championships......except for last year against Florida :(

In 2002 they had really no outstanding offensive players at all. Krenzel threw for under 2,400 yards I believe. That years defense was pretty sick, and so is this years.

As for the question, I have said many times Ohio State would win. Kentucky fans are going to say UK, Ohio State fans are going to say Ohio State. But it doesn't matter, they don't play each other and probaly never will. So, we don't know who would win.

We might get our chance to see this game in the Capital One Bowl this year.

Well, not if OSU goes 12-0, because I don't think the #1 team in the country would play in the Capital One bowl :thumb:

I don't think OSU will go 12-0 either. :sssh:
