The last time I talked to the Raceland AD, he told me that he was going to have all the portable stands from the other facilities brought in for the game. That includes the Baseball,softball, JFL and tennis facilities. My concern is the parking.

 

How early can raceland folks tell me, I need to be there to get a decent spot and not have to park down by the new high school.

Now my 2 cents on the Jones debate. If his ankle is as bad at everyone seems to think, If I was going to play him, it would only be 1 way (offense or defense) and since he was moved back to DE last week, I think another week on defense would probably be better for him than offense where he may be forced to run/scramble etc. I do believe that Cordle can do an excellent job of running the offense.

 

Our backs/receivers need to get better at holding onto the ball and to know when to go down instead of fighting for that extra 1 yard when 4 guys are on you holding you up while the others work on stripping the ball.

 

I believe it will be a great game with a great atmosphere.

The portable seating is supposed to be moved and ready for Friday.

 

I would get there by 6pm at least. Some of the tailgating will start around 5pm. At 6pm you should be able to park by the old high school. If you have an issue with being able to walk to the stadium, PM me and I will reserve you a spot close to the entrance.

You won't have to keep me updated on this game OldRambler because I'll be in the end zone this Friday Night. I'm traveling 2500 miles for his game and I'm expecting a good show.

 

This will be my first game I've attended at Ram Statium since 1975. I hope to see you there with some of the other BGPers.

I'm certainly not going to make a prediction. My username says it all, I love Raceland and Russell both and while The Red Rambler is official mascot of the fictional consolidated East Greenup High School by bi-polar fandom will be in a full on manic episode as The Red Devils and Ramblers face off.

 

I will say the Russell's pass defense has been a problem at times and Raceland's passing attack is what it is. While it's not as dominant as it has been the last few years under Grizzle, Boyles is a more than capable Quarterback and he has a bevy of weapons at his disposal. Both teams are VERY physical and while punch each other in the mouth. I don't think there is an andavtage either way because neither one of these schools is going to back down.

 

I go to plenty of Russell games and have seen them several times this year though and Russell's rushing attack is hard to stop once it gets going. I hope Jones plays because he is a joy to watch on the football field. He plays with a ton of heart and character and is the spark plug that makes the Red Devil engine run as well as it does.

 

I know Russell's Coaching staff is certainly not taking this game lightly because they I know Raceland sure the heck isn't. The Rams have been hungry for this game for a LONG time. Both of these programs have the two best staffs in Northeastern Kentucky. Vanderhoof may well be the best Head Coach in the long and storied tradition of Raceland football and Ivan McGlone is an absolute statewide legend. It will be a treat to see these guys match wits.

 

I still can't believe its taken this long to get these two together. It should be a fantastic game and no matter who wins I just hope the kids keep their heads on straight, don't let emotions get the best of them, and the game remains injury free. I also hope that the students of each school will show class towards one another (wishful thinking) and us fans and alumni show the same amount of class. This is just high school football after all and this is a game that should be fun for entire community if we let it be.

I would offer a family friends back yard for parking but I dont think they would appreciate that without me asking but it is in the back door of the field. I will see how many they can squeeze in there. Since our main concern is this years game but after awhile we tend to get to brutal with each other even though we are neighbors I guess I can start something else just for lightening this years subject up. I wished they would have played last year. Yes, I said it and I won't say it again but I do. Anyway that is past and this is now. I do understand seating and more bathroom facilities are going to be added. I am sure more food and I still hope everyone remains safe, the boys reamain healthy, no one gets thrown out and we have a good old fashion neighborhood game.

Thanks for the offer Ram, and it's much appreciated but I'm flying into Raleigh NC tomorrow to visit some Raceland grads and then we are driving to Raceland on Friday for the game. I guess you can say I going coast to coast for this game. I hope to meet you at the game.....sounds like you devote alot of time to the young players.

Russell usually takes seven buses to Ashland for players, band, and cheerleaders.

That will take up some parking.

Should be a festive atmosphere at Ram Stadium Friday night.

Surely they can unload and park the buses off-site somewhere.

I just got word that another couple of Raceland grads and a former star Rambler RB will be making the trip in from North Carolina as well. :ylsuper::ylsuper: I hope to get to see these guys that I went to school with so long (30-35) years ago.

Why should they do that? Russell parks the buses of opposing teams right up front against the fence. It is called "hospitality."
