As for being more important to Raceland I feel that any game is important, this is a local interest game that I, like some others would like to see for "old times" sake. I think that it will be a huge $$$$ draw and benifit both programs in that way. As far as "Big Step" of "Have to have" game for Raceland it is not. Yes, Raceland wants to win and Russell does as well. Will either program live or die over it, .....I know that Raceland won't and I would say that Russell wouldn't as well.

But having said that......Is a big game but I would think that I am very safe in saying a that as far as Raceland is concerned that L.C.A. , Fairview, Paris and Nicholas County are far more important in that they are district games and the 1st playoff game is far more important than this one with Russell. So, yes Raceland wants to beat Russell, any team-player or coach that doesn't want to win any game shouldn't be out there and I think that I include Russsell in that as well.

The downplaying it sounds good but in reality...all want to win. Would I trade this one for a playoff game win...NO.

It is what it is and will give Raceland some very good competition to help them prepare for a playoff run. That's it

....Raceland is all about the playoffs and wanting advance in them and that imo is that this game is used for, using it for playoff preparation.. I would hope that no one is flattering themselves - Raceland Football certainly does not need any game/opponet to make a statement of any kind. I am sure that Russell feels the same way and they should. :thumb:

As I was saying, I can't believe anyone would think that Tyler Jones will see limited action against Raceland. Russell will approach this game just as they have every other game this season. Tyler will play 3 quarters at the least. And I know there is not one player on that team that would say........ I don't care if we lose this game as long as we have a chance to go deep into the playoffs......... This is high school football and it's played to win every Friday.!!!!!!!!!! As far as Tyler's injury, he has obviously chosen to play through it. And playing with a lot of heart I might add. So if you want to know, it will be business as usual. IMO

In my opinion, this is a bigger game for Raceland than Russell. If Russell wins, it's just another win preparing for the play-offs, If Raceland wins it gives them a big step towards being a local power and bragging rights over Russell which Raceland dreams about.

I think you are right. I know all of Russell's players really want this game. Also Jones has played with tremendous amount of heart.

Any rate the incident I am speaking of I personally witnessed and was like I said in the late 70"s. Out of respect for some (and maybe kids) that may be close to a couple of individuals that were involved back then I will not go into it or discuss it any further.

You obviously have an inside track to know that he will play three quarters. I give the kid credit for playing hurt. He is although much more effective at 100%. Your inside track tells me he will play hurt the rest of the year. That is of course if you really know the real deal.

That is why I am excited about this game. I expect a lot of people. It will be a great night of football with a lot of friends on both sides of the fence. I expect to see a lot of people standing and sitting together, with one wearing a Raceland shirt, and the other person wearing a Russell shirt. This will be a great event.
