If it were me I would hold Jones out and let that ankle rest for a couple of weeks. Let Cordle take the snaps and gain some valuable experience. At running back I would give the bulk of the load to Bailey. Let him work it out and get Abrams some rest.

 

This game means nothing. Get ready for the playoffs. This is as good as a scrimmage to work on some different things.

 

I think the boys, the coaches, and apparently every other fan in Russell is taking every game seriously, including this one. Nothing is taken for granted and this game means much to both communities.

I didn't say it wasn't taken seriously. But in the grand scheme of things it means nothing. I know it will be very emotional but Its really insignificant except for bragging rights. Personally I would rather have Jones with a healthy ankle in the play offs and some of the other players getting more involved.

As for my joke, it was truly a joke whether you choose to believe that or not. I am fairly sure that others took it as such. Sorry that you didn't and to anyone esle that was offended by it.

The game between these two well respected programs will come down to one thing, and although it sounds cliche', this game will be won in the trenches. The team who can control the line of scrimmage will win this game. I think both teams have shown weaknesses on the defensive side of the ball. Russell looks like they have been having trouble defending the pass and Raceland looks like they were having some difficulty stopping the run. Russell is the bigger and stronger team but Raceland is faster and has the more explosive offense imo. Im going to predict Raceland's O-Line to control Russells pass rush and allow Boyles time to find his open targets. Also Im sure Russell will get a heavy dose of #20 Brett Denton. Its going to an exciting game between two good football teams, but im going to pick Raceland to pull it out in the fourth quarter.

As far as a prediction, this is one of those games that you never know how it's going to turn out. It's like your whole family playing in a pick-up game in your backyard. The best picked team with the supposed best players don't always win. I don't really know how to pick this one.

Myabe, playing teams that no one else around here could hang with.

Russell hasnt been Struggling...They are just not as strong as in the Past. They barely beat Boyd and Ashland, which shows their weakness. I believe Raceland can pull this one off if they execute properly.

Russell barely beats Boyd and Ashland every year. And in 2005 Boyd won and didn't win a game after that {maybe one}. As for Ashland and Russell they go back and forth with wins, but they are always close games. The only weakness I can figure is having good rival games. You need to get those eyes looked at........ they look alittle red.

If you call being 8-1 struggling I'm not sure what football team you are watching. Being in close games is not always a sign that you are having problems. At times when you are in a close game it is because the team you are playing is just as good as you are. You call it what you want. You have definately established yourself as the leader of the Russell haters. I have no idea what ax you have to grind with Russell. Enjoy.
