I agree but when you see dollar signs ahead of you sometimes its better to fine tune your skills in the sport that you are best at and not risk career ending injury in another. I hope he plays so they can be at full strenght this season. Certainly dont want any excuses from the Colonel fans as to why they may have lost a game or two. With him they are my top team though. Without him I would probably rank them 2nd or 3rd.

Not really, he is a very under-developed player, the only thing he would do is take up space on the floor. With that said, You don't replace 6'8.

 

 

:thumb:I would agree that losing Bass is probably more a long term loss because of the potential of a 6' 8" post player but he would not have been a factor this season. He was still very much a project.

I talked to one of the Holmes coaches this afternoon and they are very excited about the additions today. This season is getting off to a good start with this group of kids and they are looking forward to see if they can get back to Rupp and try and make it back to Saturday. He stated that this group of kids was alot more coachable this time around with the loss of some difficult attitudes they had to endure in the past few seasons and with these two kids being Holmes kids except for the past couple of seasons they are already well known by their teammates and should be nothing but accepted and welcomed as new team members. It was also stated that Ricardo has a chance to be a very special player before he graduates in three years.

He stated that this group of kids was alot more coachable this time around with the loss of some difficult attitudes they had to endure in the past few seasons .

Don't really buy that any coach would ever say that, especially Henley. He's very respected and would lose a lot of respect in the community and/or the 9th Region for making a comment like that.

Because he has the talent to be a future major leaguer if he focuses on baseball.

CovCath is by far the team to beat. All they lost from last year was Kurt Bovard, And Todd Jacobs. They had strong J.V., and frosh teams last season and will have a lot of depth. The only question is will they be physical enough on the inside.

They will be physical enough to play with the other NKY teams, but outside of that it is unlikely. To me, their problems will be physical guard play (a team like Highlands with big, strong guards will frustrate them) and passing (Jacobs and Bovard, as well as Brown, were the only strong passers on the team). Mitch Shover has big shoes to fill as a distributor.

Sort of diminishing the roles of Bovard and Jacobs aren't you. I thought they were a pretty big part of CovCaths success last year.
